Doesn't happen often to me, but this video is exactly what I needed last night, and seeing it on my feed when I woke up was neat. It's super helpful to see these big parts of gamedev being broken down into more manageable tasks, lifts a lot of weight off my shoulders.

I'm a month late ;_; But this will help me correct my future projects :P It helps a lot to have something like this to organise one's own thoughts. It also helps with the stress: if you only have a list like this made by yourself, you fear something is missing. But hearing these steps from a dedicated, reliable game channel, you can rest assured that nothing fundamental is forgotten.

A vertical slice and core gameplay loop are different but related. Saying a vertical slice is sometimes called the core gameplay loop is a bit misleading. Core gameplay loop is the 60-90 seconds of stuff the player is going to be doing over and over and over during the life of the game. It's important to polish and get the feel right so people don't get bored or frustrated. A vertical slice is like you said: a representative section of the game, with graphics, gameplay, and a bit of the plot if there is one. This helps prove out the game as a whole, and can be shown to investors, publishers, and the public if you make it into a demo or trailer.

STELA art design seems somewhat highly inspired to the visuals of the game INSIDE and it is gorgeous!

Excellent timing. I'm currently working on concept art stuff for my own game and it's good to see I'm on the right track.

Im considering wanting to work in the game industry, how’s your game going?
@rei17892 жыл бұрын
@@antonb5504 Tbh soon after this I realized that I didn't have the funds to hire an artist, and even though I knew how to draw, my artistic skills in general were not enough to do what I wanted to do with my project, and I'm not passionate enough about "art" to want to learn to do it more. Of course I still have the prototype and the game concept, but I've had to put it on the backburner for now. I figured I'd try to save some money first so I could commission an artist.

When I retire from my custodial job, working at a publish school district I want to start a new game making company, doing the business end of it and directing the story line of the games while I higher everyone else to do the rest of it. I want to be the CEO/entrepreneur of the company.

Heeeeey guys!, It's me! Paolo!, If I close my eyes I can see Joe, hahaha, say Hi to Joe, and Juan (Great work!), and all the team too!, This video is Great!, I'm doing currently a course/certified in 3D Modeling and 2D assets, I already finished 2D Character and Tiles Pixel Art, and I did it because I didn't know how to draw anything. Maybe I still don't, but I draw/create better! The video makes a lot of sense, I discover my self creating more than 4 versions of a tree, because it didn't feel as the version (focus) of I was intended to. I will keep working and improving myself, thanks for an awesome video!, you really come to save us (new devs) with "must" information!, Also we are having cold waves here in Mexico, so you guys take care and avoid getting sick ;), talk to you later guys! Thanks for your awesome work!

8:04 This also called " blochmesh stage " or pre-alpha As of how I understand AAA progress they use low quality model not a fully completed one or used one with animation with their previous titles . I learnt a lot with nautghy dog behind the scenes , also GDCs are really good source to learn tricks & share thoughts . And yes audience' feedback is really important Good video as always , 👏
