When I was 22 back in 79.y buddy worked in Saudi Arabia driving a concrete truck for pepper const..came back bought a 67 convertible red black top. Straight 6 it was a blast ripping around the country side at night top down ..summer nights in July great memories. Didn't no it then. But I sure miss those days .

Holy CheeseHead Batman! The amount of bolts you have to remove and keep track of are making me have a panic attack on this side of the camera...I am tremendously impressed with your effort and ability to keep all of that organized. What is your method of being able to store and catalog the parts? I really did not see how you set aside the parts, but I feel like you have a floor, bench, and all available space filled with the pieces of that puzzle.

Having been through these engines (many times) your doing a good job. They are excellent engines, but it's always the German plastic crap that fails on the Bosch fuel injection. I usually delete the air pump which serves no purpose and cleans up the engine compartment. The cylinder head studs are always "fun".

Real good video . Where did you learned all these stuff your knowledge and experience seems like impressive . Can you make a video on this?
@andrewmcewan80813 ай бұрын
there are a few specialists in the uk doing amazing things with these engines . if you want to tidy up the engine bay slightly lose the airpump also check all the plastic parts in the bosch fuel injection system it's normally those that cause problems.

I had to laugh/cry when I saw the tile here, I had an XJ-6 like that come into my workshop back in the 1980s and boy was that a fun job, I had first fabricate an extra long drill and tap for extra reach to drill and tap out the block to replace most of those studs that just broke undoing the head bolts. A massive job and to make it worse the arsehole that owned the car bounced the cheque on me and did a runner.

Err was the water BROWN..? If so, then yes your head gasket is bad. Also this will impact the water pump heavily on these cars. Please please flush that nasty water out..... Corrosion is the enemy here. good video bud. If I ever look at A car, I always check the water. If its brown WALK AWAY!!!!

My God! I could get it apart like that, but not sure I'd have patience to put back together 🤣 PS- do they sell Cylinder head bolts you can replace those studs/nuts with? Why would they use nuts instead of bolts 🤔
