Repair your phones and use them as long as possible (and bareable). Buy last years flagship second hand for cheap and repeat the cycle.

also in may cases repairs screw up electronics in other ways. Due to the complex nature of the gadget, there is always a risk of needing even more repairs and sending the costs through the roof. I had to replace iphone 12s rear system which costs almost half of the phone cost. Within six months of this the earpiece failed and apple is asking 26000 rs to fix it. No there is no choice but to keep using the phone and take calls on speaker or go through the hassle of using airpods when necessary

@@pratikdugam5612 Thats why we need access to single parts. Apple inflates the price to repair to make it unviable.

I've had my Huawei P30 Pro for almost 5 years now. I've been thinking about upgrading for a newer camera but just can't justify it. The Huawei still performs so damn well. I'll definitely go with Honor but it doesn't look like it's going to be the current generation. Still annoyed Trump killed Huawei for the western world.

With the cost of battery replacement if you have your phone through a carrier most of the time you can get a new phone with your old one as a trade in for maybe 200 more than the battery replacement cost.

I don't know why this is targeted at Apple. Isn't battery degradation, a more demanding OS and 'premium software features' a general smartphone company problem?

I only upgrade my phone when it's broken, doesn't work properly or doesn't receive any updates anymore and I keep it as a spare. Then I'll go on a refurbished site like back market and buy a used one for a fraction of the new price. I don't care if it's already 2 years old.

Same, went from a Samsung Galaxy A54 5G to a iPhone 13 since the Samsung phone was constantly crashing with the apps and just not working. Feels great going for my cheap budget phone to a two-year-old flagship.

Initially had the 15 Pro, it was my first foray into iPhone land after being an Android guy since Android first came out. I loved the switch as IOS fits the current needs of my lifestyle versus what Android used to. Have some HomePod Minis and some AirPod Pro 2nd Gen’s. Love the whole ecosystem and integration. But after awhile noticed the 15 Pro was way more phone than I needed. So I sold it and got an iPhone 13 Mini, 88% battery health and it being so small I might have to charge it once or twice a day depending on usage. But once the battery health drops below 80% I’ll get another battery for it. It may have a small battery and less than ideal battery life, but it charges up quick enough and does everything I need.

That's why Apple got sued. The Cpu speed is tied to battery life. You upgrade the battery and you are faster again. Apple throttles the cpu to maintain the same battery life in hours. More important to keep that 10 hours battery. They still do it. Usually never an issue but when it gets to like 70% and lower batter health then it's noticeable. Pay $79 or $99 and your cooking with gas again.

Same here. I say I’m not going to every year but end up trading in. I didn’t upgrade to the 14 model because it just wasn’t worth it. I went with the 15 Plus this year and will upgrade to a Pro model. Not sure if I’ll go 15 Pro or 16 Pro as I miss the smaller form factor.

I’m on an iPhone 11 and replaced my battery a few months ago. Unfortunately, that didn’t fix the problem, so I’m likely picking up an iPhone 15 or iPhone 16 Pro Max this September.

The a17 pro is considerably more powerful not the 10% you stated ,but >15% not to mention the increased gpu speed and enhanced neural engine. Then the phone has 2 more gigs of ram. It really is a big leap compared to every other iPhone in recent memory. Kind of like the jump from the 6 to the 6s

I am going from a flip3 to a fold6 this week. The phone is fine but back glass is broken, The battery is terrible and honestly, I am bored of that phone.If Apple releases a smaller iphone or a new SE, I would upgrade my secondary iPhone 12 mini too. I feel like 3 to 4 years is where I tend to switch my phones

Got iphone 13 pro since release. I swiched battery after 2 years and a bit. at 87% battery health cuz i didnt want to wait to die. I hope to keep it another 2-3 years. My fiance- i got her a Iphone 15 cuz i really wanted a usb c, but i didnt want to pay extra for pro model which isnt needed for her or me... Il have my phone do security upgrades from now and stop any other update.

That one is easy for me THis time. I’ve read they are moving the new button somewhere more convenient for people to take pictures and click for camera. Also the AI maybe would be good addition since I have m1 air. That would pair well.And I’m having pro max 13. If you ask me I would stay with this phone for two more years at 92% battery health. The only thing I hate about it tha I’d the size and the weight. Gosh I just miss the good old days of 13 mini and I jumped at the big one. Pure beast of a phone in any charts. I’m thinking of not even trading it and just keep it. But def im going the smaller Pro one and keep that big boy before the AI 🤖 and use it as gps lol in my 2007 Prius. 😂😂😂. They would pair well for sure.

I'm not an Apple die hard but isn't the AI features directly tied to the neural engine in the chip of the phones? Considering it does most AI things on devices, as they say, seems like hardware is essential. Do the new AI features on new Galaxy's exist on the previous phones?
@akbehl98
@akbehl98 Ай бұрын
Hardware is essential to do it faster, but apple does this from years like giving new features only come to newer phones old iPhones get the versions but new features never arrive there.

Yeah , probably some of the AI stuff will run faster on a newer more powerful phone , but you have to ask yourself honestly, what difference will having the new “ AI ” make in your day to day use of your smartphone? A lot of the time, I think for most people it will be a nothing burger ( happy to be proven wrong though). On any of my phones , I have 2 Android and 2 iPhones sitting next to me as i type, I pretty much use them all basically the same, I will use the assistant to do the tasks or answer questions, like asking them to navigate somewhere, or to remember a parking spot , or what time it is or to set a timer or a reminder, if someone rings me on my iPhone 14 , I tell Siri to answer on speaker and it does . How much more will AI will we actually use in day to day life ? I suspect it’s like most things for us humans , in that we will get a new function in our tech toys , e will try it out for the first week or two, then it will be just using them as we always have , meanwhile our old phones that still work perfectly well for 99% of the things we do in day to day get retired because they are not the new shiny gimmick filled device.

@@mikldude9376I actually believe AI is the complete opposite of what you’re saying. It’s not a gimmick, just look at the notes to calculator section that is game changing. Spoofing pictures and taking out unwanted artifacts. Organizing libraries for photos, music etc. I think a lot of it is QOL stuff. If it can get smart enough to differentiate telemarketers/scam calls from real ones it could be even more of a game changer. None of these are “needed” features though. They’re all just everyday things made easier which I think is way better than one time use gimmicks.
