Today we will learn how to bike with your dog. Your dog must be well-trained and socialized in order to run by your bike safely. Make sure your dog can walk on a loose leash and knows how to properly behave during a walk. Don't ride in traffic! We bike on bike paths and feels much safer. Get a harness! I have a harness connected the bike and it works great .
start slowly! I started by getting him used to walking near the bike then getting him used to being near a fast moving bike. Then very slowly work your way up to a riding on the bike and going a speed comfortable for you.
❤️Comment "#CyberTheDoberman" or "KamiThePitbull" for a hearted comment❤️
Thanks for watching! KZbin is a huge passion of mine, I've been making videos since 2009. I appreciate all the support, it really means the world to me.

Cyber is absolutely amazing, but I do have a couple pointers? Please don't shoot. I've been doing bikejoring with my Mali- I have that same harness, and it's pull contact will eventually screw up the dog. You want one that connects to the back of the ribs (top of spine tho) and that pulls from the sternum. This harness doesn't have a good pulling point, and it's just a concern that Cyber will end up feeling the effects as he gets older, and he's so gorgeous! Also when out biking/walking, it's not advised to let dogs drink from puddles. There's a lot of toxins, especially on the road. It's good you had your own water! It's just a cation for drinking from puddles BECAUSE of said toxins Please don't hate, he's absolutely gorgeous, great video, and only adding my two cents so other's may be a bit more informed when looking into harnesses?

This is super useful. Will start working on this with my dog as soon as my bike arrives. She's not a great leash walker to begin with, and thinks roadside walks are boring, because we usually go for hikes in the woods. Used to bikejor with my 2 Dobermans but used sled dog type harnesses, my older Doberman used to free run as my trail dog when I was mountainbiking, sadly she was my lead dog and now at 10 is getting too old for this and has retired from bikejoring. Hey bro, I have a dobie just like yours. Does he ever pull hard can the bike actually stop him? I fell once with him pulling but that was my fault because I didn’t break and followed him into a curb causing me to fall. But when he pulls he pulls hard would a bike in motion stop a sudden direction change.
@derek554
@derek554 7 ай бұрын
When we used to bike I would tie the men leash to the entire bike frame in the front Centerpoint so whenever I break it stopped him or if I let go of the break he could also pull the entire by making it a little bit easier. After about a week of riding around you too we’ll see how each other’s flow and just go from there! You just have to make sure your dog is comfortable around the bike and learn each other’s body language. I’m using voice to text speech so hopefully this comes clear

@masterrelicrelic6151 6 ай бұрын
@@derek554 I bought one of those special bike antennas and it works great. If he pulls hard I can stop him. The only problem I have is that he barks loudly when I put my feet on the pedals and try to move. I can’t tell if it’s excitement or a warning. Because once I start going he pulls like a horse and will just start going. I’m giving him high reward treats during the process hopefully he will tune it down a bit.

So I'm just curious - every single dog biking video on KZbin has the leash attached to the bike itself, and a lot of them use 2 leashes. I just have my dog's leash around my left wrist and he runs to the left of me. I feel like this is the safer way to do it because if he happens to get distracted and dart off, he's not going to be able to pull the bike down and injure me. In an emergency, I can let the leash slip off my wrist and I won't topple over. I can also keep a bit more distance away from the bike if I want to. Is there a reason behind not doing it this way? Why is it preferable to attach the dog so closely to the bike itself? Don't you run the risk of toppling over if you have a dog trying to work through its ADD?
@derek554
@derek554 Жыл бұрын
I remember perfering attaching the leash to my bike itself. This was allowing me to have more control over my Doberman's movements as we rode. This was especially important when he would get excited and start pulling on the leash, as I could use the brakes to slow down or stop the bike if necessary. Having my hands free to grip the handlebars(and vlog ;D) was also a huge plus, as it made the ride much more comfortable and allowed me to maintain better balance. And keeping a safe distance between the bike and my Doberman was crucial to preventing any accidents or injuries. In hindsight, I wish I had invested in a proper dog biking leash that was designed specifically for this activity. While my wrist-held leash was effective, it did have its limitations, and a specialized leash with a shock-absorbing system could have prevented sudden jolts and jerks that could be uncomfortable or even dangerous for my dog. Even though my Doberman is no longer with me, the memories of our bike rides together still bring a smile to my face. And I hope that others who bike with their furry friends will prioritize safety and invest in the right gear to make the experience as enjoyable and safe as possible.

@@derek554 wow thanks for the quick reply! Yes I'm gonna invest in some proper gear, I'm interested in how it will feel and it seems a bit safer. Make sure before you do this you're over 54 years old you're 75 lb overweight and you haven't ran your dog on the bike for at least two months beyond that make sure you're well lubed up Gin and Diet Mountain Dew works well that way in the event of a crash you can just relax as you hit the pavement and you won't break anything... that's highly unlikely that would even happen because of your worldly experience and the bright light you have on your forehead from your sister Vonnie now time to get on with the show remember Wolverine tough⚡✌👍

I came here to talk schiatt to amateurs posting instructional videos. Stop! I saw countless cringe worthy moments bordering on negligence. First off. Do not let your dog drink standing pools of water. Animals urinate and defecate in them. Leptospirosis is a common disease acquired in water. Please educate yourself before educating others.

Nasty forcing your dog to drink puddle water !! You have no idea what nasty shit is in that water before it got to the puddle.

I appreciate your concern but 95% of the time I carry a water bottle with me and whenever we got back he got loads of fresh water. however I never forced him to drink anything, it was his choice to drink the puddle water lol
