Chandan da, i bought a hybrid azalea , which I potted in soil but it died within few months. Recently I bought a new single petal desi azelea which was in soil media, so I potted it in soil with vermi and cocopeat. The seller also advised me to grow it in soil and not in dry leaf. Is it ok this time or shall I have to alter something.

@world explore, Good to know, you are from Guwahati too and thank you very much for your wonderful feedback! Sure, you are welcome :-) Azalea needs acidic soil and doesn't do that well if we use just soil and vermi-compost. Need very light soil mix at the same time. Dry leaf is great for Azalea and please use it. Not sure, why seller said that. Honestly saying, many are just seller and don't have enough growing habits. I would upload video on it very soon (with updates)

Thanks for your reply and your guidance. Did it today. Firstly removed the soil mix around the root ball without disturbing the root ball and without removing it, then filled it with dried leaf and then covered it with some soil and again placed some dried leaf for mulching. Is it ok now. By the way can I place a small piece of phitcari in the surface to make the soil acidic. Thanks in advance.

Hi from Durban, South Africa 🙋🏽‍♀️. Thanks for this, even though our seasons are flipped, our climate is probably very similar. We have hot and humid summers, and mild winters when we can still grow beautiful flowers. We are going into autumn now, so I can try this with pansies, violas and even petunias 🤗 happy gardening 👩🏽‍🌾🌻

I am done with petunia. No more petunias in my garden. It's a very difficult and finicky plant.
