How durable is it? If I decide to go wakeboarding behind a jetski or skiing, and I crash/burn onto the watch, will things get damaged? Is it "shockproof"? Seriously considering this watch

Nice first video. Not sure who your target audience for this video is, but it seems to lack details. if it's targeted for casual watch buyers then the video is ok. This watch is a great GADA watch with an interesting movement. The most interesting part wasn't highlighted and it's the silicon hairspring and what it means to magnetic resistance. Swiss made also means a min of 60% of the watch value is Swiss and 40% comes from other countries. I think Tissot gets their bracelet from China (nothing wrong with that), but claiming to be 💯 Swiss is hard to believe even for a watch under the Swatch umbrella. Some other things to consider discussing about in future series is the watch finishing (brushed, polished, combination), accuracy, lug to lug distance among others.

Hi Cedric, We created these videos for the casual watch buyer, we wanted it short (less than 3 mins) and highlighting the features that are most relevant to the everyday watch consumer. We purposely left out some technical details so as not to overwhelm the viewer with too much detail. Thanks for pointing out the Silicium hairspring, it is a much more awesome watch indeed.

The Swatchgroup owns manufacturers for all components entry to high end in Switzerland, all parts for Tissot, Certina and Mido are made in Switzerland according to Nick Hayek. The only brands using import parts for bracelet are Swatch and Flikflak.
@cedricduyongco3 жыл бұрын
@@jrgdrumsandwatches I know about the big Swatch Group umbrella but "Swiss Made" label have always had a "loop hole". According to Nick Hayek "Certain bracelets, low and mid-range, sometimes hands and dials" are sometimes sourced from China. What Nick Hayek stated that is 100% Swiss made is the movement. Which I believe they would never outsource. ETA is part of the Swatch Group and now they are limiting sales of the ETA movements to other watch brands not under their umbrella. Now back to Tissot, the majority of the watch is definitely Swiss made and the heart (which is the movement) is swiss made but for the rest of the watch, it may be sourced elsewhere. This has long been discussed among watch forums. Again nothing wrong with it since the swiss law only calls for 60% of the value of the watch to be sourced in Switzerland in order for it to comply with the Swiss Made tag.
@jrgdrumsandwatches3 жыл бұрын
@@cedricduyongco I heard Nick Hayek say only Swatch and Flikflak... hey no problem, I just don't like when people say the only swiss made thing is the movement and that it's assembled here. That is far from true. My grandfather worked for Ébauches S.A. that became ETA later. I know the Swatchgroup story and what companies they own. I read so much nonesense about this I have to reply sometimes 😉😁
@cedricduyongco3 жыл бұрын
@@jrgdrumsandwatches I never said it was only the movement. What I said is 💯 sure that movement is swiss but bracelet or parts like hands can be sourced elsewhere then assembled, finished and QC in Switzerland. Some watch brands even brand their bracelets with Swiss Made to distinguish that even the bracelet is swiss made. Again Nick was asked, what components of your Swiss Made watch are sourced in China and his reply was the one I mentioned. Of course their brands like Breguet, Blancpain, Jacquet Droz, Glashutte and Omega may have 💯 swiss made watch and bracelets. But their entry level watches like Tissot, Certina, Hamilton, Mido and even Longines and Radio would have components sourced elsewhere but eventually assembled in Switzerland with major components coming from Switzerland.

Nice video, I keep seeing this watch on KZbin more and more. It would be nice to see a video showing it on a variety of different strap options. (Other than the ones available from Tissot). I bought this watch last year, I really like it. It is a little heavy and bulky. 38 or 39 mm would have been ideal. I also have a Seiko Sarb033 and I love that size.

What is the accuracy of this watch? because mine is off by -6sec per day.. is that normal with this type of watch?
@matthewweaver1123 Жыл бұрын
I tried searching again and can't find it, but I believe tissot rates this one at -20 to +30 seconds/day, so single digits either direction is really good. Mine (same watch) is consistently running +7. (I've owned it for 1 week) I tried asking a local watch maker if he thinks he could get it closer. He's not sure since it's a free sprung balance. It looks like it would need to go to a swatch repair center to be regulated. What I don't know is if they would get it any closer or not or simply say it's within spec and send it back.

As an enthusiast I asked about the manufacture process and if the 1861 parts, dial, case, bracket are manufactured at Omega or was it done by ETA. They said it was a trade secret and I am not privileged to that information. I spent money and they can’t tell me how watch is made. Swatch is a manufacture company more than a watch company.
