I just don’t remember life without David Bowe songs. He was such a blessing to the music world and music-lovers.

David Bowie truly was his own kind of genius and it was just what everybody needed at the time. It influenced so much later stuff and it still feels so compelling today. And he's all over the map. That guy explored so many different things so convincingly.

Bowie =eclectic rabbit hole. Followed him since his Ziggy Stardust days in the 70’s. Saw him and Cat Stevens in Memphis in the 70’s.

David Bowie was a great artist. He had a variety of styles, tones, and genres of music. I really liked his live performances at the Freddie Mercury Tribute Concert. Under Pressure with Annie Lennox.

"Golden Years" was the lead single from Bowie's 1976 Station to Station album. I remember hearing it on radio a bunch when I was a kid. "Run for the shadows, run for the shadows \ Run for the shadows in these golden years -- whop, whop, whop!" When you're ready for more mid seventies funky disco Bowie, check out "Fame", "Young Americans", "Sound and Vision", and "1984" -- studio recordings preferably.

To be honest with you David Bowie actually wrote Golden Years for Elvis Presley. Unfortunately Elvis declined it & honestly there was supposed to have been a collaboration where David was supposed to have produced an Elvis Album.

You wanna know how I feel about this? OMG, I LOVE when you react to David Bowie. You were just having a great time with this. You make my day anytime you react to this amazing creature that was David Bowie. No one before and no one again will ever (in my eyes) compare to his genius . What I want to hear next is a song called "RIGHT" off of the Young Americans album. You will freaking love it. The soul in that song and his back up singers kill it. LOVE ON YA!

If you haven't hit Fame, it's a must hear (with John Lennon!). Also Young Americans and Fascination. All are from his soul/R&B album, Young Americans. Luther Vandross co-wrote Fascination and sang background vocals on the album. It's wonderful!

do people realize how many different voices and vocal techniques he's using in this song? Bowie is absolutely underrated as a singer.

I think one of his backup vocalists was Luther Vandross- if not on this song, then on the entire album with "Let's Dance" on it. Vandross said that Bowie encouraged him to have a solo career, expressing support of Vandross' talent. I love David Bowie.

"you still have the best years in front of you, as long as you have years in front of you", quite an insightful statement. Wonderfully done, I'm going to borrow that. Try listening to King Crimson's " Thela Hun Ginjeet" off of their "Discipline" album. You will have fun again with the crimson King.

Everything you did about this is Truth! Station to Station the title track is a KILLER track, if you haven't reviewed it yet, please do so. It starts out nonchalantly ..... Then.... 🔥🔥🔥🔥. Station to station is my favorite David Bowie album, bar none! And they're all gems! Thanks Biz. Peace.

Bowie was influenced by Black American influence: check out the entire Young American albums with back-up vocals by a very young Luther Vandross (before he became well known) and to the Let's Dance album produced by Chic's Nile Rodgers. Other funky bits scattered around: 1984 (reminds me of Shaft. Also done by Tina Turner), Tonight (duet with Tina Turner) and Secret Life of Arabia (funky). He was a big supporter of Black artists -- and spoke out against MTV for only airing Black videos at 2am...he also married Somali model Iman (gorgeous).
