This is what I never understood; you make an artificial intelligence, put it into a human form, then treat it inhumanely, then get surprised when it goes a little homicidal. "Oh no! We imbued them with intelligence and the ability to feel then wrote them off as just machines and treated them like garbage! Why are they so hostile?!" If I were treated the way some of these androids get treated, you better believe there's gonna come a breaking point where the town's gettin' painted red. As in, with blood.

Uh this is just a story as AI such as depicted does not exist. However, what this story really reminds me of is what any partner (read human) would fantasize doing when their efforts to improve a relationship are met with argument and rejection. This isn't a scifi story as much as it is a human story. A robot (be it a woman or a man) is just a stand in for accommodating the scifi category.

Awesome film. It feels like a microcosm of the AI debate currently going on. It's normal for an AI to say "I can create all this art and you can drink beer all day and do nothing". After all, if they've been created to do the work of humans, why aren't humans happy about not having to work? On the other hand the AI doesn't understand either the human view of art as something coming from the mind/soul of the artist as opposed to a remix/imitation by an automaton or the human need to feel needed, to have a purpose. Without his craft he's just a sad, lonely alcoholic. Also, be nice to your robots, you never know when that will come in handy.

Maybe we would have survied if after her question "How do you like it" he would have shown admirement. The AI seemed to be attracted to be admired in her helpfullness. But also maybe not, because the AI ain't human and won't accept (could not) to be just equal in the longer run. The human already convinced the AI that humans only wishes "to drink beer, sit down and do nothing". The concept of freedom - as she understood due to learning from him - is crippled. The human is right on one thing rhough: The AI really does not understand the human way of creating arts. It seems, enemyship is the destiny between AI and humanity but also it seems that it is due to misunderstandings that could have been solved... before.

Because I sure don't see those type of films very often here. And before folks go all flame job on me, I don't see our future as being too great. Between the tensions in the world, my country hurling at 1000mph to restricting freedoms, killing our own economy, and a plethora of other things I don't see a very bright future. But maybe just a a change of pace someone could create a short like this with mankind creating a future that isn't so dead.

amazing how much world building, plot & character development can be done in 6 minutes. Company A obviously not smart enough to build Asimov's 3 laws of robotics into their product. you'd think he'd be more pleased, not only with magnificent art, with all the 'massages' too 0:40 😉
@Mr-Corey-June Жыл бұрын
You mean these Laws? First Law A robot may not injure a human being or, through inaction, allow a human being to come to harm. Second Law A robot must obey the orders given it by human beings except where such orders would conflict with the First Law. Third Law A robot must protect its own existence as long as such protection does not conflict with the First or Second Law. People can't even keep the 10 commandments or man's basic laws taken from them. Don't dishonor you parents, don't lie, steal or murder. Just imagine if the churches followed the Bible based on what Christ taught in stead of dogma. Not trying to get churchy. But the point is laws are important, but today law and order has no respect by some people, or even those that are suppose to enforce it. So in a way the short video shows what a disregard for those 3 laws can do. That's the same thing I see in this world. Lie, Steal and Murder should be common sense bad things, but bad has become good and good has become bad. It would be great to have a robot to cook, clean, talk to, and wants to help. But failing to program the 3 laws is insane. I'd love to have a robot that has those abilities. I hate doing dishes, and to fetch me a cold beer. Oh yeah.

Beautiful pictures, neat work. But to be honest, even though I'm probably making myself a bit unpopular in the comments column: The plot was only moderately interesting for me personally. Reason: The end is already revealed with the news report, according to which attacks by androids on humans increase more and more. And the whole thing with malicious AI attacking humans is an old story. It can be reboiled. But I miss the additional original aspects here.
