He said he took it off because...drumroll...he was afraid of scratching his laptop. Naturally, it became one of the biggest memes of the WCJ subreddit soon after. On one hand, poor guy. On the other hand...you've gotta be in disbelief for how he lost it that way and poke fun at him because it's goddamn hilarious.

Releases that impressed me in 2021: the Breitling Premier B25 Datora with salmon dial and the Zenith Chronomaster Sport (white dial). Both were compared to other watches, but no one is allowed to own a 3 subdial layout or a color scheme, so I just enjoy both of these because they look amazing. For hands-down horological achievement, you have to cite the Jaeger LeCoultre Reverso Hybris Mechanica Calibre 185. This thing can tell you things about the moon's position that you don't even understand. It's got 4 different faces on one watch! Unbelievable.

@@theshadowman1398 Tudor is in my opinion the progressiv sister of a very successful and conservative brand. Tudors quality is not far away from Rolex. And some models are amazing designed. The silver case and the Taupe color of the dial is outstanding, a statement of coolness. There is no similar model in the Rolex world. I purchased the ceramic BB and put the 925 on my wrist, just for fun. I left the shop surprisingly with two BB. First time I purchased two watches at the same time.

I haven’t cared this little about a Tiffany since Grant Mitchell’s wife got vehicularly mullered by Frank Butcher. My personal favourite this year has been the Marine Nationale Pelagos. I watched(!) a Teddy Baldassarre review of the Vostok Amphibia and I was sold. Waited patiently for it to arrive from Russia and I wasn't disappointed. I paid more than the quoted $41 but it is a gem of a watch.

My top would be the Zenith Chronomaster Sport, followed closely by the Tudor Black Bay Ceramic. I'd also note the Omega Speedmaster Chronoscope and the Tudor Pelagos FXD. Worst by far is that hideous Patek/Tiffany monstrosity. Awesome vid, guys! Love the banter.

2 highlights of the year for me. Grand Seiko's White Birch: the dial a bit OTT for my taste, although amazing, but the 9SA5 movement inside is technically stunning and with a level of finishing that is next level for the brand. Second shout to Moser & Cie for the watch that looks like an Apple smart watch but is actually genuine high horology. Have to recognise the kahunas in that!

Frederique Constant Monolithic Manufacture movement was the highlight for me. Shame they didn't put in the Highlife case... also shame that Rolex announced some new colours the day after, and the watch world lost its mind over that instead

My favorite watch for 2021 is my ORIS 65 (blue dial) Diver on a black Barton Silicone Elite strap. Wonderful vintage look and fits like a glove. It opened my eyes to previously owned watches too. They can be a great bargain.

The MTG-B2000XMG is absolutely stunning in person and a bargain when compared to anything in the 1,000 USD/pound price range. It looks like a Richard Mille in essence instead of another retro knockoff, and that's why I love it. The perfect second daily when you want something different that any watch lover will appreciate when viewed on wrist. Love the channel. Cheers.

I own a Glashutte Original perpetual calendar that drips high horology far more than most of the tool watches snobs wear these days and I find the MTG an excellent choice, especially for a premium tool watch. The hate comes from those not understanding why you'd pay a premium for a Casio, which is how I feel about any piece designed to be used in a rough/tool manner. At least these are truly tank-like with finishing that is better than anything for 1,000USD while not being not another awful retro clone.
