Duuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuude! Excellent choice. AOS is like Buffy (or Supernatural): Some SEEMINGLY unconnected, monster-of-the-week episodes for a while and then... BAM! It hits you from all direction in ways you don't see coming. Just watch out for spoilers in the comments... already people think they're being "subtle" with their comments, when usually it's the opposite.

Hi Darcie, always happy to welcome a new AoS reactor! Since you said you were watching the movies, but didn't say how far you've gotten, I thought I should let you know that at least early in the Agents of Shield run, it lines up with the movies. I also wanted you to know how it lines up, so the movies aren't spoiled for you. So, here is how Season 1 lines up: Episodes 1-7 take place after the events of "Iron Man 3" Episodes 8-16 take place after the events of "Thor: The Dark World" Episodes 17-22 take place after the events of "Captain America: The Winter Soldier". This one is the most important - do not watch episodes 17-22 before watching "Winter Soldier". If your movie watching is beyond "Captain America: The Winter Soldier", please disregard. There are guides available online that will let you know how the episodes line up with the movies. CBR has a good one. They have a nice chart in their article that is spoiler-free, but I would probably avoid the small write-up before the chart. I would avoid the Screenrant one, as it has spoilers throughout the article. Welcome to AoS, Darcie! Looking forward to seeing more of your reactions!

As soon as I heard you start to talk about Coulson being dead at the beginning, I got super excited to watch this video. If you look at other people who have watched this, most of them already know that Coulson is in this show. Its fun to watch a video with someone who doesn't already know. It’s so refreshing to see someone LOVE this show!!! Season 1 is the most different thematically and very cheesy at points but if you love the pilot you’ll LOVE everything to come. (I, for one, love the cheese). The main six are introduced sooooo well - Coulson: team leader, Skye: hacker/outsider to Shield, May: badass pilot, Ward: lone wolf specialist, Fitzsimmons: scientists that share a brain💜💜💜💜

Not only will you find that the writers slip all sorts of the usual MCU Easter Eggs and references to the comic books and the movie (and since you said that that you have seen all the movies, you’ll find clues as to WHEN the movies take place compared to the episodes: This Pilot episode takes place after Iron Man 3 but before Thor: The Dark World; you’ll discover when the upcoming movies happen as you go along), but they put in even more clues, hints, foreshadowing to underlining storylines and future events! And always remember: Everything is interconnected and no storyline is without a payoff or an explanation later on; so don’t blink, don’t get confused and stay focused!_*

So many surprises along the way, along with familiar faces like J. August Richards aka Gunn from Angel. It is such an amazing story/show. As you heard, the movies are tied to the show in terms of keeping up with the timline of events. Great choice! This show was some of the best television I have ever watched. I honestly didn't like part of the first season, though I loved it rewatching it later. I would never have guessed how amazing this show would become judging from just the first season. The quality jump from season to season is huge. It just gets better and better. You're in for a wild ride!

Splendid choice! I started watching this show when I was 17 through to my early twenties. I watched it every week and enjoyed the more human aspect of the Marvel universe. I wish they'd had more queer characters but I loved it all the same. Hope you enjoy it! :)

Fun that you weren't spoiled on Coulson being alive. FYI, when it first aired, AOS advertised that fact,as all us fans had clamored for a "resurrection". There was a Coulson Lives t-shirt, which the actor, Clark Gregg, wore at San Diego Comic Con. When the show was announced, full credit was given to the strength of Coulson fandom for its creation. That's credit to Clark, of course, and AoS cast some equally lovable people to surround him. Also, the writing is key, of course, and led by Jed (NOT Joss) Whedon and Marissa Tancharoen, who I was happy to discover can produce a show that I ended up loving even more than Buffy,etc. They can take you through the highs and lows, but I ultimately found the ride to be a joy, with a landing that felt perfect to me😊😊😊😊

Got this in my feed and am glad I did! Excited to watch your journey. The show is really fun and really kicks into high gear towards the back half of the season. The woman who is talking to Ward before the Coulson "reveal" is Maria Hill, and she was also in Avengers. She's Fury's second in command.

FYI, season 1 can be a little rough for reasons I won't go into, but once you hit the 3/4 mark of the season, it starts improving and stays that way. Season 4 is probably my favorite season of genre specfic TV against basically all comers.

I am so excited for you! Get ready for the best ride ever!!! Some say the 1st season is a little slow, but those people suck. LOL.... Season 1 is the SETUP! It's the foundation for the GREATNESS that is coming!!! Have FUN! Soon enough you will be crying, laughing, and sh!tting your pants every episode! LOL Also,... hope you know to watch the 2 seasons of Agent Carter before Season 3 and the SHIELD mini-episodes called Slingshot during Season 4 ... and maybe rewatch MCU movies that came out just before and during Seasons 1 - 5.
