The question I've been going back and forth about for DAYS since I watched this film... Aunt Cass or Mrs. Incredible? The only sure-fire way to know without a doubt I did NOT make a mistake is to say.... both.

Your immediate intense love for Baymax is so relatable. They really made us feel all the emotions using a damn robot. Also, I've always thought Honey Lemon doesn't get enough recognition for her abilities. Girl is doing complex scientific formulas on the fly in her head and inputs them into her periodic table bag to create the specific ball she needs for the situation; all in seconds while surrounded by chaos and under a bunch of stress.

Big Hero 6 was originally a very obscure comic book series by Marvel about a team of Japanese superheroes, yet the movie changed pretty much everything from the comic, all for the better. The movie version of the team is thus much more well known than their comic book counterparts. In the game *Kingdom Hearts III*, the body of Baymax that was left behind in the portal dimension was taken by one of the villains and corrupted, with the red chip still installed. He was the boss battle for the Big Hero 6 section of the game. There have been various pieces of tie-in media that continue the events of the movie's universe, most notably "Big Hero 6: The Series", a 2D animated show that serves as a sequel to the film, with much of the original voice cast reprising their roles.

This movie... really is kind of a masterpiece. Like, seriously. First off, one of my favorite things having to do with this movie is actually a crossover from another movie. When Tony is going through the AI cards to replace Jarvis after he became Vision in Age of Ultron, one of the cards was labeled TADASHI. Breaks my heart every time. Still, I just love the journey of grief that this movie represents, and how powerfully it is told. Heck, even the microbots are fascinating, because when you see Hiro controlling them in the demonstration, they are very structured and geometric, but when Callahan is controlling them, they make very jagged and chaotic shapes, reflecting the mental state of the person controlling them. I really do like that Honey Lemon is the only one who _really_ pronounces Hiro's name correctly. Hiro is a Japanese name, and the pronunciation is very specific. And the architecture and design of Sanfrantokyo is amazing. Apparently, in the lore, it is where Japan took a massive part in the rebuilding of San Francisco after one of the major earthquakes. Oh, and those "kite" wind turbines are so beautiful. I wish we could get something like that to work IRL. Oh, also, Alastair Krei is voiced by good old Alan Tudyk, who is in... damn near every Disney movie these days. Look up his resume, it is insane. Duke of Weselton in Frozen, Duke Weaselton in Zootopia, Heihei in Moana, the toucan in Encanto, K-2SO in Rogue One... the list literally goes on. And yes, this one always makes me cry. Also, do yourself a favor, and just bust out some quick-fire reactions to the Beymax+ series they did on Disney+. They are super short and gloriously worth it. You get to see Beymax being... a healthcare companion.

My family’s dog used to be with a little boy and his mom who named him Baymax. He’s a fluffy white dog and when you don’t get his hair cut he gets really big. When we got him his hair was so tangled that the groomer was able to hold up an entire matted tangled carpet that she had cut off. When he was done, he was a tiny little dog that looked completely different, and so we renamed him Tadashi, who was under the fluffy exterior the whole time. Or acts like he doesn't know the names of the characters and calls them something random. I used to watch him, but I got tired of him not actually paying attention to anything he watches. I haven't seen anyone comment this, (and if you have I'm sorry for not seeing it) but I think one of the reasons why Fred's "superhero suit" had fire was because the voice actor also voiced Tuffnut from How To Train Your Dragon and its a little fun homage to it

I read once that Disney movies intentionally include big emotional losses such as a parent dying because it’s a relatively “safe” way to teach kids about some harsh realities of life and sometimes bad things happen but it’s okay you’ll get through it.

Fun Fact: Big Hero 6 (as it is an animated movie) is considered a marvel movie, they're based on a real marvel team by the same name. The original comic book was made by Chris Claremont and David Nakayama. So, logically they can be cannoned to be a part of the MCU, so at any time Kevin Feige and Marvel Studios could potentially make a live action Big Hero 6 if they wanted to. Which, to be honest, would be insane and crazy to think about!

A movie with themes of family with really good pacing and tackles topics of grief. I feel like a good movie to do after this could be ultra man rising- I know it’s only been a few weeks since release but i just watched it today and oH MY GOD. ITS LEGIT SO GOOD…. You dont even have to be an ultra man fan or know anything about it to enjoy this movie, you can just get right into it. It also has themes of family and dealing with grief in different ways, i rlly think alex will enjoy the movie

BH6 was created by the guys at Man of Action (Ben 10, Generator Rex, Sonic Prime -etc) when they worked at Marvel Comics back in 97ish. When Disney acquired Marvel Lassiter looked through the Marvel catalogue and said he wanted to develop this team into a Disney (Pixar) film.

Another Easter egg here and boy is it ungodly levels of nerdy... Hiro geeks out over meeting Prof Callaghan, creator of the Callaghan-Catmull spline. This is a nod to Ed Catmull, former Pixar President, who pioneered computer graphics as a student at the U of U. Inventing, among other things, the Catmull-Rom spline. I think I was the only person in the entire cineplex who got that one. And possibly the state.
