I was searching for a reaction to this movie a week ago and the one’s available weren’t to my liking. My first thought was, “I wish Mr Video had one” Thank you! You legit review the movie in a non distracting way, while still being perceptive about the plot. Too many reaction videos are people either talking over pivotal scenes and then being extremely lost and not getting the point of the film.

Same here. When I was in college, my dad and I got into a heated argument about my sister. I felt so angry that night coz he was accusing me of not taking care of my sister since we both go to the same university. Little did I know, that was the last time I would get to see and talk to him in person. About 5 months after that fight, he passed away. To this day, I still remember that last argument and wished that I could take it back.

(43:44) Every time I watch this scene I get legit goosebumps, something about this scene feels so ominous, the rain pouring down🌧 the cinematic and powerful strings and pianos 🎹🎵 The blue lighting, Also Adam Sandler’s acting in this scene is PHENOMENAL! The way he’s shaking and trying to stay alive and how he’s whispering cause he can’t really speak. It gets me every time, also the fact that this is an Adam Sandler movie is Mind Blowing! Yeah that is one nitpick I always had with it, in that it gets way too dark way too fast. I’ve seen a lot of stories balance out the comedy and drama well but this tonal shift made it feel like two different films. Still like the film overall, one of Sandler’s best performances.

The father scene - I made sure to spend a lot of time with my father and was there that last day. Setting up camp at the lake for the Fourth of July, wind blew camp down... we went and got two 16oz Miller Lites and two Del Tacos, went back to the lake and enjoyed. Got back to the house, he stood up out of the passenger side and... I was looking into his eyes as he went. I miss him every day. Not to bring people down, yeah, this hurts unlike anything you can imagine, but the man lived a good and full life and the last things he saw/did, ate two tacos and had two beers at sunset at the lake. It could've been worse. Enjoy both good and bad in life - endure fights, enjoy laughter.

This is a genius contemporary rewrite of the Faust story from the Renaissance period. Faust was a man who made a deal with a devil named Mephistopheles, called forth by Faust to get knowledge and power that Faust thought could be used for good and thereby confound the plans of the devil. For this, Faust signed away his soul, which Faust didn't even believe was a real thing. The twist was that whatever good Faust tried to do with his knowledge and power went wrong. Basically, Faust's abilities were corrupted by knowledge and power that came from a corrupt source. You can't game the Devil; he invented the con. There's a film I think you would really, really like: "Michael" starring John Travolta.

If you would have caught their play on words you would have known Christopher Walken was Death. Not sure how they spelled it, Morty or it's actual spelling Morte. But French - la mort, Latin - mort and Italian - morte = DEATH. His name translates to Death. It's just like Darth Vader. Vader = Father, in German. Gotta watch out for that wordplay cause sometimes they give away the big reveal early in the movies.

It doesn't matter what Terry Crews is in, he always steals the show. Legitimately one of the funniest men alive

Hey man, I totally agree with you about how funny Terry Crews is! That guy is awesome! I think he steals the whole movie with his small scene!🤣🤣🤣 Terry Crews dominates any movie he's in!🤣👍

Funny how the little kid Kevin grew up to be Cal Kestis In Star wars: Jedi the fallen order and Ian Gallagher in Shameless.

Dont have my own family where I live now, and have been away from home for 11 years. My father, when he was dying of cancer when I was a kid left us a note on putting family first, and I always feel like Ive let him down in that respect.... which is why this movie hits home pretty hard when I watch it. Hopefully others can learn from it

This movie really has a great message of cherish your loved ones before their gone. I lost my partner of over ten years some months ago and its still been hard to walk the house alone without him there. Eventually it will get easier :/

Never been married because women like to divorce too much and relying on another person is difficult, they could leave or perish and life is difficult financially after that, if money wasn't such an issue people wouldn't need to rely on others so much

@@kirerunte1046 money isnt the issue. not having the person I love in my life is the issue

@@Paineinyourblank and that issue cn be avoided by not getting married or involved with someone at all, you ran the risk by marrying someone, you know people don't live forever, but it's a good reason why most of us don't marry and it's not from people dying but from women divorcing en mass and destroying men financially

Lol near the ending to this movie actually made me tear up as a kid. Where he's dying and missed out on his whole life and family because of the remote.

Man this is so underrated, one of the very few movies to make me cry. That scene at the end when he’s laying in the rain saying bye to his family, man is that scene powerful! 👍

"The meaning of life is just to be alive, it is so plain, and so obvious, and so simple. And yet, everyone rushes around in a great panic as if it were necessary to achieve something beyond themselves." - Alan Watts

Alan says some good things, but that’s not one of them. To simply experience life is not the point of life. That’s some new-age nonsense.
