Fun set! 1. I did the same thing you did. 2. OK, I tried something - same 1N - all pass. I now engaged in an adventure: I played on spades, and took both the first and second club in my hand, and now led a diamond up. W hops queen, and I got the rest of it right (including the squeeze) to make 2. On 3, I considered trapping the ten but failed. I tried a different line which involved a heart-diamond squeeze and that didn't work either. Push. 4. Welcome, friend, I joined you. 5. Another draw. fun set, thanks for the vid!

B1: Got a friendly defense. Won SK, C to K and A, won SA, C to 8, cash CQ, D to K and A. W helped by returning a D after cashing JC, but finesse is on anyway. B2: Draw, interesting play hand though. Lia is intelligent enough to switch to JH eventually. B3: Double finessed the diamonds for only +1 :( B4: Should've garbage Staymanned, didn't but still the same -3 in 1NT. B5: Draw.

I got a rather lucky win on B2: I did not open 1NT, and the opps competed to 1NT... Which I doubled! They were down one, so my +100 beat your +90! 😅 B3: I passed the 1NT. Didn't try garbage stayman. Pleasantly surprised that I got a draw!

LLLWW - lots of vs. ACOL system action here. 1) 3NT - 1 played by north (weak NT opener) - that direction did not help and no inferences to glean from oppo but DD says it should make 2) 3C - 1 again playing weak NT I opened a club and partner competed to 3 3) Only one evertrick - Double dummy says I should make 5 - can't blame the direction this time 4) North plays 1NT - only one down - don't ask how we got there but I will take the win 5) Oppo stops at 3H - maybe my 1NT opener helped make it harder for them to find? peter_d playing ACOL

Still posting the weekly free. I was just away and about to go away. It is school holidays here and also our main tournament time.
