Sansa says that because she thinks everything is a test. She thinks everyone around her is spying for the queen, waiting for her to show even a tiny bit of disloyalty. She thinks her safest bet is to just keep saying she loves Joffrey and that her place is in Kings Landing.
@markquinlin56785 ай бұрын
That “voodoo” doll was the doll that Ned gave her but Sansa refuted it because she hadn’t “played with dolls since” she was 8. That was probably the only souvenir she owns that’s remotely connected to her father.
@AriaIsara5 ай бұрын
That bit with the doll is so moving. Because one of the last (if not the last?) interaction she had with her dad was being bitchy when he gifted her the doll :-( But after his death the doll becomes so precious to her (it's mentioned more in the books).

The Hound has an interesting outlook. In his mind, knights are hired killers who pretend to be honourable, but who will kill innocents when ordered to. He will kill innocents when ordered to, but doesn't pretend to be honourable, even going so far as to refuse a knighthood.
@dylanv.49705 ай бұрын
He's not wrong either. Most knights are just glorified muscle
@jebVlogs5565 ай бұрын
You have different "circles of knights" like you have different types of people... *Black Cloaks* are personal guards of the queen Cersei and they are hand 👌🏼 picked only by her,and no one else. Sir Gregory is the worst of the worst and scariest of them all(he's also the brother of The hound) both of them like no one sibling rivalry like nothing more to see who's the best man to serve the realm.. *Gold Cloaks* "used to serve" Robert Baratheon until he was mortally wounded by a wild boar 🐗 thinking he was still great "at the killing of the sport" boar got lucky and managed to puncture his stomach causing him to be closer to death ☠️ than he would've liked to be. Anyways, they serve "the red keep"and can be loyal to a fault. Cersei and Joffery made a mockery of one the oldest members who by the way they ordered to allow him to retire with honor and benefit with a castle 🏰 of his own(he refused and made a show by challenging other knights whom he personally trained, I'm sorry I don't remember his name) If Cersei was smart(this is my personal opinion, I would've knighted Arya cause she was the only one who defeated her son and she would've been honored-bound to protect both Sansa her sister and the future King. Heck,she would be the most feared warrior in the kingdom and training the gold Cloaks as well..
@TimL-nr4hr5 ай бұрын

@ginarainone11895 ай бұрын
Sansa’s decision to not go with the hound did have some merit. It’s not super obvious in the show, but in the books he was almost blind drunk at this point. He actually went to her rooms with the thought of raping her. He had her pinned to the bed and told her he would make her “sing”. Her being young and naïve thought he wanted her to actually sing. He couldn’t bring himself to go through with it when she sang the Mothers Hymn to him. He cried and left her with his white king guard cloak.
@gmanor205 ай бұрын
Also Sansa like the rest of the Stark kids was younger in the books. She would've only been around 11-12 at this point. So she'd be even less likely to run away with a scary drunk dude.

I don't remember that. Been awhile since I've read the books. Either way, Littlefinger poisoned the well in the first season by telling Sansa and Arya that the Hound was likely to kill them if they repeated the story about his brother burning his face in the fire.

I never read the books but it was super obvious to me and makes me tear up everytime I watch that scene. She's scared and doesnt know who to trust. Frozen in fear, staying with the d3v1I she knew. I think you missed a huge piece of info: Tyrion was slashed by a Kingsguard, not an enemy soldier. Someone from his own camp wanted him dead. Who could have ordered this hit?
@makelseypage26185 ай бұрын
A bit of info to understand Sansa's reasoning for not leaving with the hound: 1. If Stannis wins, and her father gave him support, he will protect her. 2. If the Lannister's win, she still a valuable hostage and will likely not meet death. 3. Cersei told her that anyone caught escaping will be killed like the people who tried earlier in the episode. If she gets caught leaving, she'll die. 4. Cersei also said woman in times of war often will be r@ped. If she gets caught by other soldiers, and they overwhelm the hound, she will be assaulted. She doesn't even know if the Hound wouldn't assault her. In the books, he thinks about doing it. Remember, Sansa is still only 13. She is very naive but she's learning to play the game and weigh all her options. WE know The Hound is a bit more complex and has redeeming qualities but to her, he is Joffrey's sworn sword, he enjoys scaring her and has been present for all of her torment. Why would she trust him?
@zachmiller11755 ай бұрын
This is actually one of the more humane episodes of cersi imo. She’s seeing her younger self in Sansa and trying to give her the advice that got her through stuff albeit in a condescending and rude tone and way. But I genuinely think this was cersi trying to give Sansa her advice.
@DreamOfTheRebel2 ай бұрын
Also she was trying to get Sansa drunk so that if the worst case scenario came to pass, she wouldn't be fully conscious for what would transpire with Stannis' soldiers... it's also the reason she was interested to know whether she was on her period.

the moral of Cersei telling Sansa all that is that the real world is cruel and harsh. Sansa has lived in winterfell most of her life and as a result holds a VERY naive outlook on everything. Cersei wants her to see trough all the lies, songs and fantasy about what being in politics is. Sansa is like those girls who delude themselves into thinking those boyband members are gonna fall in love with them and act a fool over it, only Sansa thinks that way about knights and lords and ladies.
@aceambling76855 ай бұрын
Part of it is realism but another part is just Cersei trying to spread her own moral corruption.
@thelegacyofgaming29285 ай бұрын
Cersei is miserable and wants others to also be miserable.
@Talisguy3 ай бұрын
That's how Cersei wants to see it, but the reality is very different. Cersei and Sansa are both trapped with civilians during a siege. Cersei is the queen regent - she's the one who's actually, legally in charge, she just lets Jeffrey trample all over her instead of issuing sensible orders on his behalf. These are noble ladies and children of noble houses. Her leadership during the siege will be remembered and talked about and it's in her best interest to keep morale up, because if the crowd starts panicking it could get them killed. Cersei, the queen, completely abdicates any responsibility she has to these people in favour of getting blind drunk and telling everyone they're going to be horribly assaulted before dying. Sansa, a scared teenager, actually steps up to the plate and shows leadership skills by keeping everyone's spirits up and calming them down. Sansa is still pretty naive in some ways, but unlike Cersei, she's actually doing something practical in a crisis, while Cersei won't stop telling everyone they're doomed and calling Sansa an idiot for actually _trying._ Cersei may be more bitter and more jaded, but cynicism isn't inherently intelligent and optimism isn't inherently stupid.

One of the shows concessions to drama over realism is that there would be no earthly way Cersei wouldn't know who was outside the doors of the red keep. These castles were designed to keep people out. You could close every gate and lift every bridge, and your archers would get a 50-1 kill ratio with their height advantage. The defenders only lost in these situations because they ran out of food unless they were outnumbered 5-1 and even in that case the casualties would have been a nightmare for the attacker. But DRAMA!

I know yall felt some typa way about Khal Drogo saying he’s grape the women of Westeros. But the lords & armies of Westeros do the same Stannis men, Robb’s men, Tywin’s men, they all grape after a victory. The ONLY army in the story that doesn’t is the unsullied.
