As for what's up with Loki's knives, it's cause Loki is a mama's boy. In Asgard culture magic and dagger play is considered women's work while real men fight like Thor. Loki spent all his time learning how to fight and do spells with his mom. The "I didn't do it for him" line was significant because he didn't nearly died for his father, he did it to get revenge for his mommy.

This movie was amazing. I hate when people say “this movie was too funny” in a negative way. Like who goes “Wow I enjoyed that a lil too much. How dare Marvel”. Being really funny ≠ not being serious enough. Hela. the relationship with Thor between Loki, Valkyrie, and Banner. Korg. Grand Master. Thor unleashing his full potential. The humor. Taika Watiti was an amazing director. This movie is definitely in the row top of my Marvel tier list.

i hate that cristism too especially because it's not as if the thor movies before had no humor thor one especially had a lot of humor in it even though it had some more dramatic moments thor works better when it has humor especially because loki is a trickster god and thor is really unrelatable if he takes himself too seriously (plus, he fits the fish out of water trope with in itself is humorous)

My favorite loki moments are in this film: #1: “I have been falling for 30 minutes” 2: very close to tied: “your savior is here” 3: “now you know how it feels” Tom hiddleston oozes charm and charisma in this role. He also plays him with nuance as well. Without these things, Loki would be a hatable character.

Oh yeah before I forget the character that Jeff goldblum is playing grandmaster he's an elder of the universe. he belongs to an order of beings that are immortal and given the power primordial. They're all survivors of their species like they're the last ones in existence. Definitely we met one of the other elders in guardians of the Galaxy The collector. the names that each one has is a significant meaning to their type of hobby like The collector. He likes to basically collect rare and obscure things. The grandmaster is about games In the comics no one really knows how many members are part this particular group because we were only introduced to if I remember correctly like 12 members of the group but there's more members they're out there that we don't know of yet this is in the comics.
