Jason Alexander, the actor who plays George, got thousands of letters after this episode aired, of people who took this advice literally. People quit their jobs, got divorced, took actions they were previously afraid to take, based upon this episode's premise. "If every instinct you've had is wrong, then the opposite must be correct". In some cases with remarkable success.

I lived in NYC for 10 years and learned to say "buzz someone up" and "stand on line" instead of "stand in line". There's also "ceiling juice" -- water that drips down on you from the top of the subway while you are standing on the platform and "air tax" - when you walk around the city and don't really do anything, but when you get home, you find $20 missing from your wallet.

Elaine's roommate is played by Siobhan Fallon, the busdriver in Forrest Gump. There are many fun guest actors in Seinfeld. Paul Gleason (NY Yankees) was in "The Breakfast Club".

I'm not a huge Seinfeld fan -- but I have always loved "The Opposite." Not just hilarious, but there's actually pretty solid life advice in this episode. "Do the opposite"

Jerry didn’t technically even out for the twenty bucks. The twenty he found was already his. He still lost twenty bucks. 😂

I wonder if they amused the idea to give George a "Wall of Hair"... Checking: Now I see that he does look a bit "puffed up"! Like the "Sniffing Accuntant"-guy style of hair. You still find stuff in Seinfeld. Amazing!

As crazy as it sounds, George may have been the best thing to ever happen to the Yankees. This episode aired in 1994 and they won the World Series 2 years later for the first time in 18 years.

All the past job experience that George mentions in the interview with the Yankees are featured in previous episodes. They are all very funny. Unfortunately you missed them. I recommend you watching them in order from now on.
