For context, if you noticed SAD-ist attention to detail, she referenced the "Dream vs Technoblade" animation with both Dream's scar and Technoblade's short hair. Basically making the dual canon to her animations. She does the same with Tubbo after this one, as he will bear the scars from the attack at the festival after this animation. The little details are just great.

Seeing you emerge as a fellow technoblade fan, id recommend "Theseus" on A Channel Without A Name. It's non cannon, an AU, but the song and art they made for Techno is astoundingly good. Also, We Take No Ls is another great animatic on this period in L'manburg history.

You were asking about the quotes and where to find them. A lot of Wilbur's lines are from his 'Am I A Villian' video which takes place when Schlatt announces the festival, it's also where he teams up with Dream. The side story, which Sadist included a little bit of, was a conflict mainly between Sapnap and Tommy over their pets. I think it's called 'I teamed up with Dream and Technoblade' or something like that. And Techno's quote about "the only universal language is violence" is from the end of his video 'The Red Festival'. Those will provide a little nuance to the story and some context that Evan couldn't pack into his already insane video. Also because you already reacted to his you don't technically need to post reactions to those but we wouldn't be mad if you did😉

You should react to “dawn of 16th” next by sadist! Then maybe technoblade’s videos on the festival and the fall. It gives more detail and more emotion and build up than a summary. Here are the titles btw- “Dream SMP: The red festival” is the festival where techno killed tubbo, and “The fall of Manburg [Dream SMP]” Is basically where lmanburg got blown up by Wilbur The video of where Wilbur was saying to Tommy that he was going to be the bad guy is actually in the summary you watched! It didn’t make the conversation as much of a serious thing than it was but it was in the video. (At 34:23 in the summary video you watched btw) the conversation between Wilbur and Tommy was basically how Wilbur said he was gonna go insane and that Tommy could join but Tommy denied in wanting to help destroy Manburg with Wilbur. If you have any questions you can reply if you want lmao- I have watched all the vods (streams) and povs probably 3 times!! Have a good day man! Also there were many other wars and events happening while this was taken place. There was a pet war between Tommy and Sapnap which is called and will be remembered as the battle of the lake! If you ever wanna react and watch it, it’s on Tommy’s channel called “I finally teamed with Dream and technoblade” Tommy and sapnap have always had wars because sapnap keeps killing tommy’s pet. Though I think the battle of the lake was about a fish. The summary video you watch is only focused on the main lore of the smp and not any side stories! Which is why you might see some other stuff in animatics

Is it true that each DSMP character canonically has 3 lives?

@@NateAlyn True, Wilbur himself confirmed this and he was the main writter for the first season (The L'manberg independence and Manberg rebelion) At the end of season one Wilbur and Jschlatt were the only characters oficially diceased (Wilbur's three lives were taken 1.- In the final control room, 2.- Escaping Manberg with Tommy by Punz and 3.- Killed by Philza, his dad, after Blowing up Manberg. Jschlatt's three Lives were taken 1.-In the Manberg Festival by Technoblade, 2.-By Quackity when he bretrayed him and 3.- on the 16th when he had a heart attack mid battle) Also Tommy and Tubbo are on their last live, wich is a mayor plot point to the second season (Both killed in the final control room, Tommy killed by dream in their duel for L'manberg's independence and Tubbo executed by Tecnoblade in the Manberg festival)

@@NateAlyn yes! a canon life is a kill that is planned or is very very important to the story (that the story wouldn’t be the same without the death). Each character has 3. The final control room where eret betrayed, he caused everyone inside the room (wilbur, tommy, tubbo, fundy,) to lose a canon life. If they lose all three canon lives they are now dead. I will be using Wilbur as an example he lost a life from punz with a bow after punz was commanded to, one in the final control room, and one where he was killed by phil on his own command after blowing up lmanburg. That means Wilbur is now dead and has lost all of his canon lives. Except Philza/Phil, he’s the only one that is immediately brought down to 1 life. He only has one life because he is known for hardcore.

all of the epic lines of the smp are from their streams and there’s really no specific edited youtube videos to pinpoint all of those epic lines (except for the animatics really) because they’re sprinkled all throughout hours and hours of vods. the audio clips from this video in particular were taken from a 2-4 week span of hundreds of hours of vods. i think that’s the beauty of it though, there’s some intense cinematic lines you’ll only hear when watching the streams live or from a vod, and there’s some that’ll make it into an animation such as this and be treasured

That whole "Violance is the only universal language" speech by Techno is still the best speech from the SMP and is VERY true. They allways resolve things by fighting in the SMP. Whenever they are trying to talk people out of doing things or reach a common understanding it never ends well and soon after bloodshed starts. The Election and then the Rebellion against Jschlatt's rule a a perfect example of this. Techno is definetly my favourite character and I was happy to hear from one of your comments that he's yours too. He is the kind of character that is just always in the right. While everyone is fighting Techno is always the one to speak the truth and straight facts! He has the best arguments against everyone and has many great lines that are just legendary. (although I wouldn't expect anything less from an english major :D ) I highly recommend watching Techno's videos on the SMP.

The big recommendations I have as far as animatics are concerned are Corruption, Massacre and possibly Limbo; all by cosmicguts, and they should be watched in that order. Note: make sure you get up-to-date on the story, or at least the necessary parts of it, before you watch SAD-ist's Evelyn Evelyn, Late-August's two newer animatics, or any other more recent ones, both to avoid spoilers and so that the emotional beats hit the way they're meant to. As for other videos, the only recommendations I have are those that have already been said; the Dream/Fundy saga, Nihachu's 'I googled myself' and Wilbur's newest video are all ideas, along with the Dream SMP stuff. It's fine if you don't get to these, I get that you have plenty on your plate, just wanted to throw in my own take!

SAD-ist and Late August are two of the highest DSMP animators. Both are super unique and convey so much emotion! Although I'd save most of Late August for if/when you get further in the DSMP plot line since much of it takes place after what you've seen so far.

Most of the quotes are really hard to find nowadays since vods that are from this timeline are deleted since its been more than 2 months. there are a lot of reuploads on youtube tho but it can be a really hard to find the specific ones since one animatic summarized an entire arc which is 1 month worth of vods.

Sad-ist’s animations are absolutely amazing- completely insane. The picking of vocal lines, the audio editing, the splicing of the quotes and clips, the character designs, the transitions, the DETAILS. They just get better and better. Once you get past the end of the dawn of the 16th’s storyline you should react to that as well- it takes everything here and steps it up. As a (beginner) digital artist and animator these are absolutely incredible, even the camera angles which are so incredibly hard to pull off with 2d illustration. TLDR: Stan Sad-ist

EvanMCGaming's videos are great at explaining everything that happens in a broad way, but there is so much happening emotionally that you really only get from either animatics or the original streams. Every plotpoint comes with so much raw emotion. I'd say, recap videos are good yo tell you what thr heck is happening, animatics are good for showing casing the best of their acting, and the streams give you the surreal mixture of important events and normal people playing minecraft, something you don't see in recaps or animatics.

The problem with only watching the EvanMC videos (don’t get me wrong they are amazing) they don’t show near the full interactions and developments.

As good as Evanmcgaming’s videos are, I think they’re more for people who want to catch up to the story and not nessecarily for people who want to watch and enjoy the smp. The reason it smp got so popular in the first place was because the streams themselves were so good, and to really understand that you need to actually watch the videos which are essentially the stream highlights. Wilbur’s videos about the whole election arc is amazing, and so are Technoblade’s and Tommy’s on the events thereafter. I’d recommend you watch those because you really missed out on a lot by just watching the recap videos.
