You guys just haven’t watched enough of their content to know that when it comes to high notes and adlibs and the most difficult parts, it goes to one of the three Chen, Baek, or D.O. Many people consider Chen the most proficient vocalist of EXO, but there’s a constant question of who’s number 2, cuz Baek and D.O. are pretty neck and neck when it comes to vocal ability, DO is just more low key. In an exo song, Baekhyun and D.O. usually starts and ends the song. Chen sings the chorus and high notes. Then Baekhyun and D.O. would be ad lib-ing in between. The other members would be harmonizing or singing the 2nd chorus or stanzas. With the rap lines in between.

I think Chen and suho have a lot of adlibs too. and DO and Baekhyun do chorus in so many songs. I think almost all. Exo's chorus are never sung by same person. Thats why People love Exo's chorus alot bcz there is a variety of vocal tones. Kai and Sehun are both serving in the military so they couldn’t be on stage but they were in the audience. I can’t wait for you to react more to Kyungsoo. In particular D.O best quality as a singer is his belting, unless you're a long time fan of exo you wouldn't exactly know this. People are so used to him singing relaxed, but he can get quite high with almost no effort.

That's very wrong. That "fact" came from the old kpop vocal community, which many people hasn't been updated to. Even then u missed the context of what they're talking about. D.O. was the best when it comes to support in his mix, not belting as overall. & now Chen has caught up & even showed improvement where he does it better than D.O. multiple times. So no he's not the best. When it comes to belting as a whole, Chen & Baek still does it better than him. His belting is great but that's not his best quality. That's his agility. This part of his voice is literally unmatched in kpop. Among idols specifically that is.

Funny thing, D.O has the most male and noona (older women) fans among all members, he attracted middle aged women through his dramas and movies , he is also the EXO moms favourite, Chanyeol's mother even attended his drama cast shows , Chanyeol's sister was mad at her brother because he couldn't bring D.O to her wedding to sing( Kyungsoowas filmingthat day) , so, Chanyeol was singing instead 😂 This medley is from the 2024 Fan meeting and they usually are playing games too, Baekhyun and D.O both lost and the punishment was to wear the costumes 😅 They had two concerts that day , this one was the second and was live , on the first concert, all members lost and had to wear panda costumes 😊 EXO's discography is full of r&b songs, they are the best at , many Exo-L prefer the b-tracks before the title tracks, they have many hidden gems ☺️

19:48 It doesn't require effort, if D.O can make you impressive notes and it seems that it comes out just by opening his mouth, the funny thing is that they criticize him for that very reason, people who have no vocal technical idea get angry because they say that he doesn't make an effort when he sings, when it's the opposite to sing you shouldn't force yourself because in the long run he would end up hurting himself, has seen reactions from many vocal coaches where they praise that D.O. has total control of the air and his body (how to position himself, what to use at all times, diaphragm, larynx...) to sing that way and make it seem that it doesn't cost anything to do it even if I'm making complicated notes or riffs that many others have a hard time doing...

This wasn't a concert. It was a fan meet. EXO knows EXO-Ls miss them a lot. So they did a lot of singing and less on playing games. They let fans request songs for them to sing but the list was so long that they decided to do a medley-killing voice style. They also didn't have much time to prepare and practice as all of them were busy with their own solo projects. And during this fan meet, Suho and Baekhyun were sick. And yes, EXO can do any genre but they lean more towards R&B. However, their solo albums are all different genre from each other so hope you guys will also check them out. Chanyeol is a main rapper. Also EXO has 2 sub-units with their own albums if you want to check them out: EXO-SC (Sehun & Chanyeol) and EXO-CBX (Chen, Baekhyun & Xiumin).

16:25 My understanding is that Chanyeol began training with SM wanting to be a vocalist, and possibly join a band. As you may or may not have already seen, or you can see if you do react to the ultimate guide or the individual member guides that are out there, Chanyeol can also play a variety of instruments including guitar, drums, piano, etc. I think it's just mostly the case that he also has a good voice and flow for rap, so that's where SM focused him, but there's an old clip of him saying that he doesn't want to be known as "just another pretty face that raps", not only because of his musical background, but also because there's definitely a perception among some people that companies give the rapper position to the least talented members of their respective groups. If you notice with his solo work, it tends to skew more rock and vocal focused. I would argue even his raps tend to be more on the melodic side.

I'm sure others answered these questions, but just in case. 1. The members missing are Kai (still in the military), Sehun (joined the military between Killing Voice and this fan meeting), and Lay (Chinese member who isn't allowed to promote with them due to Chinese/Korean political conflicts, but is still officially a member). However, Kai and Sehun are in the audience! 2. The dinosaur costumes are due to a game the guys played earlier. At fan meetings like this, it's some singing and some fun parts like games and such. For that game, the losers' punishment was to wear the costume for the rest of the fan meeting. 3. I cannot wait for you to know D.O. better. EXO has three main vocalists: Chen, Baekhyun, and D.O., all considered some of the best vocalists in the industry. D.O. particularly is known for soulful singing and masterful runs. Killing Voice didn't really showcase his adlibs and abilities, and his calm face while singing will make it look even easier. But he's so so good. In the full episode he did with IU, she mentions at one point that his solo songs are deceptively difficult, and she's easily one of the best singers in Kpop, so it's high praise for his ability.

D.O. nonchalant expression comes in part from his natural eyeshape where the lids sit lower over the iris giving him s slightly "I'm sleepy" look. I love that look though. He's just cool. He wants ramyon to be healthy, he wants to lay back and belt comfortably, and just is allround pretty chill.
