This will be my first Dixit purchase. Essentially this works as a dixit board game( use only the cards with paper and pen) and a different board game that is pretty good on its own. I think this is the way they should head from now on. Create a new set of cards that can be used as an expansion for Dixit, that is packaged inside a different game system. Well done. Excellent explanation as usual

How has there not been a "Big Box" release for those that want to store all their Dixit cards in one big collection? (or has there and I missed it!). AKA, I'm desperate for a better way to store all the Dixit cards.

At least the new version of Dixit (for 3-8 players) has room for a couple of expansions, as does Odyssey. But I agree. Dixit needs a better storage solution.

I put all of my expansions into a different box (tzolkien expansion box, but you could use just about anything), it fits 6 expansions. My original box holds up to 1 expansion, and Disney Dixie looks like it will hold another 2 or 3 expansions. But the expansion boxes they come in are a terrible size I agree.

Of all the games I've played with my family, Dixit is the favorite. I have to nudge them away to try anything else. I know they will love Stella. I'm determined to get through all the Dixit expansions before getting this though :)

Great video! I have a non-game related question, but a technical one about making the videos. Do you memorize the script, or do you have some kind of teleprompter like set up with what you are saying? How does it work? It's exceptionally done so I'd be curious to see learn the rules of "How To Make A Good Instructional Video" ;)

I re-write the rule book into a script, and for the head shot moments I use a teleprompter. For everything else, I read from the script as necessary.

Rule Clarification: How would someone be in the dark and manage to not fall by the end of a round? If they have more Xs, won’t they eventually have to point to a card no one else has or can they voluntarily stop before falling?

Think of it this way: Let's say there are only 5 cards in the grid (just to keep it simple). We'll number them Card 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5. Let's say I put an X on all 5, but you put an X only on Cards 1, 2 and 3, and our friend Sue puts an X on 4, and 5. Now I'll match with at least one person on all my Xs and not fall. Hope that helps!

This game looks like a better way to use Dixit cards. Some Dixit cards aren't as evocative for the base game and didn't work as well in my experience. But this game uses simple word clues more likely to match any of the art styles from various Dixit sets.

Thank you, this was very clear. However, my problem is not so much not understanding the rules as much as being starkly, mindbogglingly bad at the game. 3rd in a 4 player game is a rare good outcome bad. I will often have no clue as to how a clue relates to any pictures (on BGA, no choice) and when I'm confident will fall on my first reveal nearly half the time. How do you actually git gud??

Loved playing Dixit with my friends and I'm sure to love this one. Each card tells its unique story according to each player and everyone can make their own interpretation which gives something cool in the end. But if I buy more, think I'll need a little more space in the room haha.

I used to love Dixit, it was one of the gateway games for me but I don't play it as much anymore also this reminds me a lot of First Contact somehow. I wonder should I get Stella for nostalgic reasons or it satisfies the same itch as First Contact?

I haven't played First Contact, but I avoid making personalized recommendations anyway. What I like, someone else might not, but hopefully the video gives you a sense of whether or not this is one you'd enjoy!

@@bryanbrammer4353 Oh yes, it absolutely comes with its own Dixit cards. You'll find that mentioned in the video. It also explains how you can use the cards from this in your Dixit games or Dixit cards in Stella, if you want to swap some around. It's very versatile that way - and every Dixit card in Stella is brand new!
