@severinpridal13554 жыл бұрын
No, not really. that is std maint on industrial engines
@LAG094 жыл бұрын
The classic BMW onwership experience in Germany has always been to drive it hard for a max 4 years, fiddle with the odometer and sell it before it starts making the blue smoke. No point in making things like that last when they fail after it's been sold on and hence won't affect the original owners' decision to buy another. It was only a few years ago that they made it illegal to tamper with the odometer and that came after years of dogged resistance from industry and consumer advocate groups so they lease the cars now.

@AaronSmith-kr5yf4 жыл бұрын
@@severinpridal1355 Yeah I think its generally accepted practice to refresh the bearings and piston rings on a semi truck engine every million miles or so. You may let the Ninja know, should he not know this already, that there are specialty tools you can use to screw into the rods that give them handles. It makes them radically easier to work with and the ones I've seen are aluminum so you don't risk scratching the crank. My Dad has a set of them for SBCs since time began, but I'm sure you can get them in "German" as well. If he's doing a ton of bearing rolls, it would be a big hassle saver for him. It's easy enough to make your own too.
