yes & most of them were warranted EXCEPT ONE Why don`t MOJO make a video on equatorial tilt? what your climate change REALLY IS It takes 26 thousand years to complete 1 cycle ,earth tilts one way ( gets warmer ) then tilts back ( gets colder ) after t6he cold one we get floods ,BIG TIME . My 14yr old brother drowned at bassingbourn barracks in 1988. So I get sad when others die by drowning every summer. Please teach your kids to swim n what to do in deep water to survive. The specialist divers need more recognition and recompense for their work.

I am so dreadfully sorry for your loss. I cannot swim and I nearly drowned in Loch Ness at the age of 14 when I fell over the side of our boat. Swimming lessons should be free for every child (maybe they are now but they certainly were not at my school back in the day.) I've got an insane phobia of water now.

The one that got to me was Geraint Vincent announcing the death of his much loved colleague ITV health and science editor, Emily Morgan. You could see from his eyes that he was heartbroken: “she was also, as she wanted the world to know, a mum to her two cherished daughters, a wife, a sister and a daughter herself”.

I’m in a career field that requires suppression of emotion while dealing with absolutely horrific events. It takes a tremendous toll the longer you do it. As a prosecutor I used grief to fuel anger as a means of seeking justice. As a judge I’ve trained myself to remain neutral in demeanor. But make no mistake, the feelings are there and it’s painful to withhold them. That part never changes. Those in my profession who show emotion aren’t applauded but rather risk their livelihoods. So I applaud those in the media who can embrace their humanity and allow the world to see they’re part of the same community. And I’m especially happy to see so many who welcome it.

I automatically started crying when I visited Ground Zero in 2013. I don’t know anyone personally who was impacted by 9/11, but I have a heart, feelings, emotions and empathy. I think it’s important to stay human and show it, also as a newsreader.

I remember when that happened I was glued to the tv, horrified at what had happened. I even cried. I'm spanish, so it's not like it affected me in any way, but when something like this happens it just kills me a bit every time. Like the atocha, paris or Rambla terror attacks, it saddened me for the people affected but also makes me feel the world it's spiraling out of control.

The first lady brought me to tears as an American. Queen Elizabeth II was most likely the only Queen she ever knew. I recall when President Kennedy was assassinated, Walter Cronkite was known at the time as the voice of American news. I'll never forget, even as a young child, how he removed his glasses and had tears in his eyes as he announced the President's death. I'm often surprised that news reporters don't lose it more often. So much of today's news is so sad. They never need to apologize to me, they are human. 😢

There is nothing to Apologise about showing Compassion, Emotion, Empathy and more Emotions that make them and Us Human. I Felt all of this and it Pulled my Heartstrings. At the end of the Day; they are only Human, not just Robots on the Screen that we have a Parasocial Relationship with. Being Human shouldn't be Repressed or Punished by Expectations and/or Norms at any Kind. Being Emotional is Universal that must be Embraced by anyone and Everyone.

Paul O'Grady was such a magical human being. I cried when they put a special on tv about him on Easter Sunday. He was one of the best. Such a champion for animals and so, so funny. I grew up with Lily Savage on my tv every Saturday night, but I really fell for what a special human being the real Paul was when he used to do his afternoon shows with Olga and his other dogs. I hope they're reunited now. He loved those dogs so much.

I remember the Lake Tradegy and seeing it. It happened not long after a fatal RTC in Oldbury had killed a 16 year old girl from my college. It was a sad spell for the Midlands the girl from college, another 16 year old girl killed in an RTC in Merry Hill, a 15 year old killed in a crash in Wolverhampton and the 3 boys dying in the lake. My football team West Bromwich Albion had our first game back after International break at The Hawthorns our home game we won 3-0 but the atmosphere was weird we had an applause for our club doctor who had died, then the 3 lads after 3 minutes then the girl from my college who worked at the clubs fanzone she supported our rivals but her mum's family were all West Brom fans as an 18 year old all of them tradgies hit me as I wasn't much older than the teenagers and the young lads reminded of my family. And it happened in an area where if I knew my Biological mum I would be living

I didn't see any of these at the time although I did hear Anita Rani on the radio. What a special man George Alagiah must have been. I clearly remember Martyn Lewis being overcome with emotion reporting on the death of Princess Diana in 1997. It was the first time I'd seen emotion in a newsreader and it really affected me at the time.

Many people probably think of newsreaders as automatons but I like it when they demonstrate empathy with the people and situations they're reporting on. If I were a newsreader, I'd probably be sacked pretty sharpish because I'd be weeping my way through practically every sad news report and nobody would understand what I was saying.

Not on TV, but I remember my dad bursting into tears many years ago reading the newspaper. A family had got a swingball for christmas, but the westher was too bad to use it. When the parents considered it ok to play the two children were left unsupervised. I believe it was the younger child qho came in saying the other one wasn't playing any more, as they were just hanging there. They'd stood too close to the pole, so the ball went behind their head, swinging around their neck & suffocating them. Wr were then never allowed to have a swingball, and when I had children of my own, they never had one either.

The one that really got to me was on Granada Reports, when Lucy Meacock presented a special edition saying goodbye to her long time co-presenter Tony Morris, who had just died. She managed to keep going until the end but she was so emotional. It was incredibly moving.

The Queen’s husband had died several months earlier. When her majesty lost the ability to walk, she decided that it was time to join him. It is sad, but both almost lived to be a century old, which is extremely long for a human life, in most countries. May she RIP.

Awful one was Bryn Law reporting live on Sky Sports News about Gary Speeds passing. Live on TV Bryn said after describing their banter the night before: "I sent a message saying sick rumour doing the rounds mate, please give me a call... there was no call" It was absolutely heartbreaking, to watch Bryn break down in tears was devastating but what a professional trying his best to remain his composure to report on his best mates suicide.

Joanna Gosling was a wonderful broadcaster who, like every other presenter, had been told she had to reapply for her own job under restructuring rules. She refused and saw it as a humiliating request by the BBC. Now we have a number of substandard news presenters who presumably are taking a lower salary to do a worse job.

Here in The US, after Kobe Bryant died, our locate sports announcer cried, the next day Jimmy Fallon & Jimmy Kimmel cried, Kelly Ripa & Ryan Seacrest cried. Today is 9/11-23 years later. I don't know how reporters kept it together, not to mention the London attacks.

I was almost heartbroken when Dianne died. What bright friendly character she was. I was reminded of her more recently when Steve Wright died because she worked with him for a while and also later with Simon Mayo.

It didn't make this list because this was British centric, but in 1963 when the legendary CBS anchor Walter Cronkite read the official news report when President John F. Kennedy was assassinated, he takes off his glasses and swallows hard to keep the show going (live TV as it almost all was back then) and not burst out into tears. Also Peter Jennings of ABC in the days after 9/11, when they showed the video of the Queen's Guard playing the US National Anthem outside Buckingham Palace, you could tell he was fighting them back.
