I’m the weirdo that has never gravitated toward LV look of their classic bags. That’s not to say I don’t appreciate the craftsmanship and heritage of the brand. I just don’t find it attractive. Agree 100% with all of these pics. I particularly agree with the Chanel brooch tip- you can make any jacket, blouse, pants, skirt, hat or gloves instantly Chanelified with the addition of a brooch. Also- would be a mess without my Cles. Total life saver.

My first luxury purchase was a cardholder from Versace, then I explored the Hermes Bastia purse with my initial, from this I moved to the Hermes Belt, that I really love. Then I discovered on eBay some vintage reseller from Japan: now I own an 35 years old speedy in monogram, I care for the leather, but now I love it so much. After that I got a speedy in epi from 1992, I dyed it from brown to black, that looks so stunning now.

I was unable to find it new when it was a reasonable price. I have the bag in DE and carry it at least weekly. Hi Dacob, I LOVE your channel. I have a follow up question for you, if you don't mind? My speedy 30 is 19 years old and the vachetta and hardware are considerably worn. The LV canvas is perfect! If you were me, would you wear it "as is"? Or consider replacing the vachetta and hardware but keep the vintage canvas (it will be more than 1/2 the price of a new bag)? Or lastly, start over with a new bag....?

Hello dear 🥰 Thank you for your kind words 🙏🏻🌅 Your question is really great! Do you love the worn look of the vachetta as is or do you not like it any more the way it looks now? Also, is the vachetta breaking in some spots? Tears and or rips? If the vachetta is not torn or ripped and you like the very dark patina and potential stains then I would say keep it as is but if there are tears and rips then I would say its time to replace the worn vachetta with new vachetta. I would replace the vachetta rather than getting a new speedy… unless you wanted to sell your used speedy as is and earn a bit of money to put towards buying a new speedy, which could potentially lower the price of the new speedy you would be buying to the price you would be paying to get the worn vachetta replaced. I hope this information was helpful. Good luck with which ever way you decide to proceed. 💖💖💖

My first piece was a Speedy 25 Monogram that I got in Valencia, Spain for 300€ and some change😅 I think it was 2004? This is so true! Brand marketing wants you to always think about them and that one piece that you dream about and in the mean time purchase that woc that's just too small for anything but hey it's still a piece from them that kinda looks like the classic flap! I've been dreaming about the chanel classic flap medium in gold hardware since 2016... Still thinking about when I should pull the trigger so yup, they have my hooked on them. But I have to say, this time they've gone too far, I'm not willing to pay Hermes price for a classic flap so now I'm looking at Hermes 😂.

From LV I personally recommend monogram canvas cuz its the most representative of the brand. Does not really seem to hold its value in the heritage pieces like speedies, neverfulls, noe bags, almas and so on but these are bags one always uses and they last a very long time if properly taken care of.

They don’t look awful to me. I always travel with my speedy packed and folded until I reach my destination. Thats what the bag was intended for… to be folded and take up no space virtually. Its like the chanel 2.55 reissue… that bag was made with a fold on purpose. We need to stop thinking that folds and wrinkles are a bad and ugly thing. Thats just the multi billion beauty industry brain washing us to believe that only flat, streamlined, tight and artificial looking things are good. It could not be more far from the truth.
