This may be a bit off topic but are there common contaminants/additives distilling water can't effectively remove that you think might be noteworthy? As I understand, it should be capable of removing heavy metals, most PFAS chemicals, arsenic, sodium flouride, etc. but it's unclear to me how common VOCs or other chemicals with a similar boiling point as water are (generally speaking for the US).
@waterfilterguru3 ай бұрын
As you mentioned, VOCs with a boiling point is close to or lower than water's can vaporize along with the water and end up in the distilled product. VOCs are more of a risk with groundwater, rather than surface water. So if you get your water from a private well, or if your municipality sources their water from an aquifer, there are higher chances of VOC contamination. Here is an in-depth study conducted by the USGS on Volatile Organic Compounds in the Nation’s Ground Water and Drinking-Water Supply Wells which I think will be helpful pubs.usgs.gov/circ/circ1292/pdf/circular1292.pdf
