This is a super-cool idea. All gold capture devices are nerve-rackingly hit or miss in operation, but this one looks pretty reliable...

Great idea! Any idea on recovery rates?

Just wondering why this won't work in water using a wet/dry vac -?? But, Good Job on the new tool!!
@ReedLukens12 жыл бұрын
With the air flow, a reverse riffle design like in the drywasher might work better, did you try that? Seems like you would want smaller holes so only the fine gold will drop into the lower section. Still it's a worthy idea, though I still like your drywasher better :) A little Honda 2000i generator is a lot quieter & can be carried with one hand. You could build this on a leaf blower platform designed to eject the tailings for longer running time.

Any gold that goes through still in vac. I like it.

Why not add a 1/8" classifier to the end?

Huge problem I see with your rig is the shopvac hose you're using as the dredge hose. It's ribbed along the inside which will catch any and all gold dust/flakes/small nuggets before they get to your gold catch area. Other than that it looks like a fairly efficient machine.

Just shake out the hose into your concentrates.

Shake in the field then rinse out into your pan or separator. Be sure it is bone dry before next use.

You have some interesting builds. Judging from the landscape i think you live nearby. We have similar interests, I would love to collaborate on alt. energy stuff. Or just tech stuff in general. You will find my abilities on par with yours. why not?

Now to improve on this design come up with a mining tool that can also separate elements in a vacuum such as on the moon. If achieved such a device could be the catalyst for a robotic industrial revolution on the moon.
@MrTeslonian7 жыл бұрын
So in your opinion a vacuum design would work good in space?
@shyneenose7 жыл бұрын
Not exactly. What I am saying is if a element separator could be developed to function without water within a vacuum it might be useful for coming up with raw materials out of this world.

Once we have something like this than the robots can do some serious work to prepare for colonization.

Nice idea you built it. Would you mind send me email information I can make one and I can purchase-buy this unit? Nice Video :-)
