10:32 treat object as volume 20:30 setup no primary visability (only bounced / reflected etc). 21:10 velocity v - velocities color Cd -> displayColor 25:65 render as holdout 30:05 render as discs

If anyone is experiencing that bug at 11:45 where the ocean becomes blank, go back to the ocean geo node and save the spectra to disk again. I do not know why they removed that part from the video.

We don't have plans for third party renderers, main focus is going to be Karma, Good luck!

the scene files link isn't working at 9:30 you set the sop import to read ocean interior/merge render grid - this is not available if i create the ocean from the shelf,

This is all great but there is a massive black hole between creating a basic ocean in Sops and your imported scene in LOP's.

We are going to focus mainly on Karma, however everything should be applicable you just need to find the appropriate shaders for your third party renderer.

Great stuff..actually my intention was to see the creative aesthetic side of your developing a water/WW shader when using renderman.I quite liked your videos with Arnold volume shader construction so always on the lookout for your other valuable inputs in terms of aesthetic designing

Amazing tutorial, such valuable information, I've being creating shaders on material x for flip ,white water and oceans, with XPU now simulations are blazing fast. i got everything working properly except the volume gradient for specular, any tips would be really appreciated.

No cameras found in the USD file Anyone else having this issue when trying to render to disk? Renders fine in hydra and the camera IS in the stream. Thanks for a great video! Edit: Resolved itself when updating to 455.

I have the problem, that I only see a flat grid without my spectrum although it should be applied. Ive been struggling with karma ocean issues for 20h straight in total. So Im a bit frustrated. I watched so many videos. Every video about karma oceans including masks etc. I need to increase dicing a lot to even see my ocean spectrum. However, no matter if a grid works or not. I need to apply the spectrum on a flip mesh which also gets masks etc. That ends up in a long long long initialization, so I consider mantra faster at this point. But even if I try mantra is continuously saying "processing displacement geometry". So I decreased my spectrum resolution although I even tried this in karma before + packed my flip mesh. What should I try now? Any ideas? I would really appreciate any tiny bit of help.

as of version 20.0 you have to use the houdinioceanprocedural node, to preview in viewport place a houdinipreviewprocedurals node

-How come the ocean shaders become a simple diffuse glossy shader when imported to K? There's not even as many waves as Mantra -Why is dicing not an available option in RenderGeometrySettings -Why is the lighting completely different in K compared to M?

@rebelway really loving this and felt very straightforward but had some issues with glitching geometry and volume when rendering out to disk, experienced anything like that? any good tips on what to avoid?

I had some glitches too. For example, one frame would ignore the fluid and volume and render only the whitewater volume. Then the next few frames would ignore the whitewater and only render the fluid elements. The final render looked like a strobe effect switching between whitewater and water. The object stayed constant.

@@MarvelousMediaEngine hey if you have this issue I solved it by rendering points as uniform volume - rather than using the rasterised volume, which I would have preferred.

Does anyone know how to bind the vorticity and velocity to basecolor if you are using the shelf generated basic liquid material. I see how he binded them into his coreshader, but the default liquid shader that is created with the shelf tool looks so much different.

big fat beefy cpu and lots of ram ought to do the trick, also a bigger hdd or ssd wouldnt be bad, and while youre at it you can also upgrade your gpu. basically if youre asking these types of questions youll probably need to upgrade your whole rig lol

How much gpu memory is required to render a more complex scene(including explosion and oceans) or like kingkong vs skullcrawler final battle.with gpu alone.is 16vram enough? @rebelway

We recommend using a computer with 32gb ram, but you are able to still use it with smaller than that. It just will take longer. Cheers!

Well I tried, it's definitely not for everyone. Still very slow on my CPU, kinda enjoyable on XPU with some previewUSD shader, I don't know what else I could use; many things doesn't work with XPU so without a very powerful CPU I'd better give up on this

Hey I've opened your project and the water is pink and I don't know why does this happen to someone else?. Try saving the render grid, it's probably looking for the displacement map

SOLVED: in a recent version they did some cleaning on the sopsolver1/attribwrangle1 node thus there is a unrecognized parameter. you can delete that popobject node and rebuild it since you probably updated your H19 version while the project is older.
