Great video!! Buf One suggestion for anyone with older model panthers.. Drain plug on the radiator has a tendency to get very brittle and if it breaks you’ll need a whole new radiator(I learned this one the hard way)… instead of using the drain plug you can also disconnect the lower radiator hose and drain it that way… it’s messier but way cheaper than a new radiator
@jpjmk8 ай бұрын
I broke mine off accidentally. Now when I flush coolant I gotta stick a flathead in there and twist. Have heard you can also melt plastic onto that plug and let it set, then twist

Great, to the point video. I was worried about a coolant leak that it would be the intake manifold but luckily it was the water pump. I used the astro tools 78585, pressure tester kit, and highly recommend it.

@MonteLeeMyPOV3 жыл бұрын
@@lesterparker3216 Hey yea it was the pump. Honestly very easy to do,the hardest part was getting the old pump out. A lot of prying and banging but it came off. I never took the belt completely off so i wouldn't have to figure out how to put it back so that made it easier, I could probably do one in about 20 mins now that i know how easy it is. Make sure you get silicate to put on the new old ring
@MonteLeeMyPOV3 жыл бұрын
@@lesterparker3216 Oh yea, its a good idea to change the belt while you're there. Had i known my belt was cracking, it would have been the perfect time to change the belt so inspect your old belt to see if you should change it.

Wow, best video I have found! Thank you for this video! I am learning piece by piece how to replace parts on my 2000 crown vic p71. Alternator pulley failed and just ate the belt on mine. It broke my bypass pulley in the process then I noticed the water pump pulley making noise. I think it's time replace water pump, since it is original to the motor.

That was a great and easy to follow video! My one suggestion in the future is, the next time you need to loosen any of the bolts on any of the accessory pulleys, like swapping out underdrive pulleys for example, is to use the impact wrench with the belt on so that you have easier to break the tension on those bolts....

Getting ready to replace the coolant pump on my 2010 lincoln town car. I hear this on and off squeak that comes on when the motor is coming down from a high RPM. I've already replaced the belt, tensioner pulley and alternator lol the water pump is next since the noise seems to becoming from that area. I read the mechanic manual on how to remove it and it says a noise could be coming from there. Thanks for the video I hope that noise goes away. Also I found some metal dust in the coolant over flow reservoir not sure what to make of it other than the water pump going bad. Thank for the video!
