I love this brand. I used it to paint a portrait on Arches watercolor paper and it was quite lovely

I have these paints and I love them. As far as mediums go, I prefer walnut oil to any of the Duo mediums. It takes a couple days to dry, but I prefer it for making the paint thinner.

Very warm water and dish soap for brush cleaning and clean hot water for rinsing. Sometimes you have to do 2 rounds.

Really great first impressions video. Thank you so much for sharing. Your tree is beautiful and I appreciated the tips for lights. Regarding the issue at the beginning, based on all of my research into water-mixable oils, its pretty standard that its better to use mediums to thin them and reserve water for cleanup or toning the canvas like you would with OMS thinned oil paint.

Thank you Maria! Yeah that's the impression I got from working with them too, they definitely blended out more evenly with the mediums than with water alone. I will do that right out of the gate next time.

Lovely painting ! This would make a wonderful Christmas Card. I just purchased water soluble oil paints and have started a painting of dogs. I really like this medium.

Baby oil cleans this type of paint easily. I saw a man from the UK use it with ease.

I tried the Wsindsor Newton water soluble tehy clean up GREAT with water. and Masters Brush cleaner. I don't like how dry they are. Even mixed with a little water they are still not like regular oils. I am afraid to use too much water.
@CautionArtistatPlay3 жыл бұрын
Yeah, I think part of my issue in the beginning was that I added too much water. These were a bit dryer than regular oils, but not bad. They felt like regular oils once I added some medium to them. I think from now on while painting with them I will not bother thinning them with water and just use the mediums instead.

Those oil paints are pretty cool, I'm not a fan of traditional oils. A bit too messy and they take way too long to dry. I love your Christmas tree.
@CautionArtistatPlay3 жыл бұрын
Thank you Naomi! I love the look of oils, but I'm not a very patient person lol. I usually use some sort of fast drying medium with them. I agree, they can be really messy!

Was wondering how were the lightfastness ratings for the “luminous” colours?
@CautionArtistatPlay3 жыл бұрын
Hello there, I don't believe the luminous colors are rated for lightfastness. They are their neon line of colors and by nature most neon colors (in any brand) are not typically lightfast. I just added a link to their product page in my description of this video ( I thought I had done that already lol.) That page has a place where you can look at their colorchart and find all the lightfast and pigment information of each color.

@@CautionArtistatPlay hi! Awesome thank you so much 🥰 will check it out! Gosh I love me my neons 😍😂

They are definitely fun for sure! It's a bummer that they aren't lightfast.

do you have links for those tiny little paint brushes you use?

Hi there, here's an affiliate link for the brushes! The smaller brushes that I used came from this set! amzn.to/48WkyjA

Thank you so much for the review! I'm going to have to get some to try. Did you use oil painting brushes with them?
@CautionArtistatPlay3 жыл бұрын
I tried a couple different kinds of brushes. I used the stiffer oil painting brushes in the beginning and also for heavier applications of paint and then I also used some synthetic taklon brushes for softer areas of blending and for details. My mop brush was actually a make-up brush. It's a bkush brush made by the brand Wet n' Wild lol. Each brush worked well with these paints.

Can I ask from the hand painted chart is there a big difference between the cobalt turquoise and the turquoise? :)
@CautionArtistatPlay2 жыл бұрын
Looking at the chart I'm not really seeing much of a difference between the two of them. So, I think the turquoise would be a good substitute if you don't want to use paint that has cobalt in it!
