Just been watching your water insyall video. I am thinking of exchanging the gas truma for the diesel version . We eat gas in the winter with heating but saying that we would never make enough saving to recover the extra expebsive. I do have other reasons ie gas will last longer and the heat is drier so less condation in the van . How did the pipes under the van proform as I would have routed through ceiling as guess they will never be water free during drain down as they are lowest point plus the clod will effect them also duing winter trips etc.

Was wondering why the water inlet is not outside but you explained it :) can’t wait to see the kitchen in :) love the fact that you hide everything under the step rather than the van. Excellent job as always.

Can't wait to have the kitchen in either! and we should be able to finish the ceiling too now, this has been holding up quiet a few half done jobs! Thanks!!

Great video! Where did you get the Truma valves/fittings from? It also seems to me that you have an excessive amount of shut off valves. Can you explain a little bit as to why?
@kamil.grebenicek7 ай бұрын
Did you use at least the anti freeze valve that came with the JP Heater valve kit or is the 25 buck kit completely worthless? Thank you.

That looks great. The drain valve looks great, i know Truma insist on it but such a neat install. I am going to add one to my iMass now i've seen yours. Great overview.

Drain valve is pretty awesome, I'd say its a must especially in winter so you can drain the tank to prevent damage from freezing! Thanks for watching

Just finished watching your great videos. I’m armchair-planning my retirement conversion, still 3 years away alas and have watched a lot of videos. Yours really are up there with the best and most informative I’ve seen - thanks so much. Can I ask about the length of your bench seats and shower? It’s exactly the layout I’m planning as I need to have room at the front for a bench seat for my daughter - it would be good to know how you’ve divided up the space. Thanks!

Hi hope this message finds you well. I did some research into the Truma JG connections. Truma say to use them in thier instructions, but when you check JG site and specs on the JG connectionss, they should nt be used with Stianless steel pipes, which both Truma and JP use!! Found this out about a week ago, after having fitted a few months ago!! I have these still on my JP Combi for now and havent popped off yet, will keeping an eye on them . Clips crossed my mind to add and see you have done the same now so will add sooner than later! I also going to fit a Termostatic valve to control temp better when showering and lag hot water pipe to maintain heat better. As i pause the shower between soaping and rinsing etc to save water. Brgds Russ
@CasLaz2 жыл бұрын
Ah thanks for sharing, it makes sense as the JG fittings need to "bite" or "grab" onto something and it's easier for it to slip from stainless. For us it seems to be working for now with the clips so fingers crossed we wont have issues. Thanks Russ!

So seems like you purchased a Truma fittings/pressure valve etc. kit. Could you share what kind of water pump you used? I'm interested in pressure (PSI) that pump puts into the system, as JP advises to use under 0.28Mpa with max of 0.45Mpa. We installed the kit and our pump is 55PSI (which is over the advised PSI), so our pressure valve is seeping water when pump is on. Any advice is appreciated, thanks for the video

Never mind, I guess I skipped video too fast to the other parts, you got the 2095 pump :)

Hi, thanks for the tip on the clips to lock the hot water outlet pipe in place, struggling to find them anywhere though. Do you have a link where they can be bought from please mate?

Hi, there is a link in the description to ebay where I got them from, you can pick from the dropdown list on ebay(locking clips)

Hi, great vids, really interested in how you've found the water heater, any issues any good points?
@CasLaz Жыл бұрын
Hi Steve, It's been great so far, no issues at all. It's slightly louder then I expected it to be on the outside of the van (exhaust) I think they made it quieter on the never versions so that shouldn't be an issue anymore. It's not really an issue now unless you wana go super stealth I guess. Also one thing to note on electric mode only its not producing anywhere near as much heat as on diesel. Diesel mode is 4kw heat, electric is 2kw so it makes sense. What we been doing if we are on hookup and its cold is boosting temp quickly on diesel only or diesel+electric mode and then once the van is up to temperature switching to electric only to maintain seems to work well.

Hi looking from the back of your van is the fresh water tank on right and waste on. the left ,mine are a nightmare trying to fit
@CasLaz2 жыл бұрын
The fresh is on the right (driver side) and the waste on the left. I found it difficult to put the fresh on the left. I found it difficult to try to fit it the other way around.

Love the truma copy . How much did it cost guys?. Also if you want a shower or turn on tap for hot water how long does it take to get hot 🔥im guessing it's not instant lol . Great knowledgeable video guys
@CasLaz2 жыл бұрын
Hi Lee! Check the unboxing / install video, we go over plenty of details if you want to find out more! Unit cost £1150 with delivery / import tax to UK. It's not instant hot water I think it takes around 20 minutes to heat up the water.
@leelendon14822 жыл бұрын
@@CasLaz wow thanks for the quick reply. Think I'm going to get one guys . Great install video. I have the same layout you have . Instead of putting the heater under the seat area I was going to put in garage but concerned on the fuel pipe length if it was going to be ok . If not I'll go with what you have done under the seat. Thanks Guys

What scares me is the number of holes drilled in the floor. This will all get rusty. I did mine van without a single hole except sink and shower drainage.

Great build guys . I am doing the same van and almost same layout . Great job and good attention to detail. I'm a marine upholsterer so looking forward to doing my own upholstery in cab ect . Will you be showing athe step build as I'm doing the same thing to work with the front swivel seat . looking at a curved section with underlighting. Once again Great build 👌
@CasLaz2 жыл бұрын
Hi Lee, thanks ! Good luck with your conversion :) I haven't recorded much of the step build but it's pretty easy, just couple battens and thin ply on front to cover. Maybe I'll do a little overview in the next video. We decided to go without a curve in the end, too much faff haha.

How noisy is the pump when mounting to the floor? I’d really like to mount mine similar but worried it will vibrate through the floor?
@CasLaz2 жыл бұрын
To be honest its quieter then I thought it will be. I think the rubber feet + our floor is not hardwood (vinyl) dampens the sound. Especially once it's covered up under the step I think it'll be even quieter.

What roughly is your yearly insurance for a van this size? And how much is the yearly tax. Thanks
