Lol! Glad I could help, Avi! I was pleasantly surprised at how easy it was to install and get up and running. The hardest part is probably deciding how to run the diesel line and where to locate the pump. I'm happy to discuss any aspect of the installation here. Please feel free to share it with any other groups you are a member of.

Indeed. I'm not entirely sure how to tackle the connection to the tank either. Any advice appreciated.

@@thefirst555 Depends on what kind of van you have. I have a Fiat Ducato. I didn't use the supplied tank pipe, I got one from Ebay since it was easier to fit. There was enough blue tube to get to the outer cill behind the driver's seat. I put the pump and filter in the 'gulley' between the cill and the longitudinal beam, mounted on a 3D printed bracket.

Strange how the JP uses the normal exhaust abs the Truma version uses the rectangle version with additional fans.

Sukru, I have not done that test and I'm not sure how compelling it might be as a video - lol. I'll have a think about it and see how best I might do it. Thanks for the idea. Of course, consumption will vary with Temperature and insulation as well as how long it takes you to wash your hair 😜

Hi John. Have you run the 230V side direct from mains/shorepower or are you running it through an inverter? Thanks
@Magic-Smoke3 жыл бұрын
I have done both. Initially I tested it from the inverter and battery - it uses a little under 1900W. It works the same with mains 😊
@MastaSquidge2 жыл бұрын
When air heating, does this alternate the output between high and low like a cheap Chinese diesel heater or does it automatically vary the pump rate to adjust heat output and stay consistent?
@Magic-Smoke2 жыл бұрын
Once its up to temperature, the 'tick rate' of the fuel pump lowers so I guess it moderates the output that way. Once up to temperature, the burner goes out and the fan continues to blow but at a reduced rate until the temperature drops a little and it all lights up again.
@MastaSquidge2 жыл бұрын
@@Magic-Smoke Yeah that sounds like what they all do. The problem I have is that in smaller spaces they bounce between low/idle and high when it calls for heat and when on high it almost instantly overheats way past setpoint. If that's how these run then I'll need to stick with the cheap diesel air heater and aftermarket controller I've been using.
@Magic-Smoke2 жыл бұрын
I've never noticed that problem. I think the benefit of the water tank may be that it doesn't have to cycle on and off too much at all

Hi John, did you connect this up to your van's diesel tank?

Hello John, I got mine installed as well. But when I test run, there seems to be a problem with my diesel pump. I tried to force it with the OilGo feature. Even the filter isn't soaked. Any solutions for that problem? Thanks in advance!
@Magic-Smoke3 жыл бұрын
@Rmss Hmm, I found that the pump pulled the fuel through wthout a problem. However, it would be worth making sure you have no air leaks in the pipe between the tank and the pump. Are you able to suck fuel from the tank through the open tube? (I think you're in the USA? You can get a cheap bulb-type pump from Harbor Freight to suck the fuel and prime the tube). Another way to test this is to use a short offcut of tube and dip it into a jar of fuel right by the pump - have the jar as vertically as close to the pump as possible. Let me know how it goes!
