I bought what I thought was 5 mild jalapeño pepper plants. Turns out someone switched the tags and they were hot. I made cowboy candy. They sure are good even though they set us on fire.

They are so good but I can’t use a lot at once. My kids, they can!

I made it last year. Not impressed with all the brine! On my opinion, the peppers need to be doubled AND a Thickener added. I made one batch. I eat the whole pint in one sitting! I put it as extra in my potato salad!

Sounds good in potato salad. 😊

I made this again this year, I had a bit left over, and tasted it, it was hot, spicey, last years mix was very mild. Also did peaches, and some dill pickles.
@pikecreekfarmАй бұрын
I like when they are milder! Ours are hot this year. Pickles and peaches sound great

I want to try it but I don't like spicy is it overwhelming
@pikecreekfarmАй бұрын
If you remove the seeds and membrane it helps. I don’t use many at once lol

If you were feeling adventurous, you might try poblano peppers, which are far less spicy? They’re also larger and easier to get the seeds out of. I like making microwave stuff poblanos as a desperation dinner and once they’re cooked, they are very Mild, more like a bell pepper, Except for the half inch or so closest to the stem.

I have a peck of jalapeños to do today as a much lower sugar version for my husband.
@pikecreekfarmАй бұрын
Will they be more pickled?
@sandeVBLАй бұрын
@@pikecreekfarm A lightly sweetened version of cowboy candy, so yes. Lots of vinegar brine.
