I totally agree. I find watercolor to be fascinating in its versatility. You can use it as an ink, an opaque paint or transparent paint, thin as a glaze with tons of water or opaque straight from the tube doing fine details. I absolutely love it But all of those things aside I think my favorite part is that it’s easy to clean up. People often forget about this. We underestimate the power of it being water soluble. You literally don’t have to wash brushes. They won’t even get ruined if you let paint dry on them. And no messy mediums. No messy oily rags laying around everywhere. And you can carry around dried paint palettes and no tubes. When art is convenient and easy you are more likely to do it more often. And that’s so important

Och Aye Angus! I always liked to draw as a kid growing up in Partick and ended up as a Draughtsman in John Brown’s Shipyard. In a working class neighbourhood one didn’t grow up to be an artist🤣 Decades later I found myself picking up a pencil and paper while in P.E.I. and that started me on my journey with art. Are those two pieces behind you watercolour? I have never done a piece that large, that might be a mental block. Will certainly look for your work with great interest.👍
