I've watched your vids for a long time and this time I wanted to encourage you to continue these type of vids. I felt like I was part of the painting in a way. I've been painting for about 20 years, only 6 in watercolor. I have so much to learn and you are a great teacher. I lived in Israel for 5 years and I love seeing familiar scenes once in a while. Keep being YOU.

I have been working with watercolor paints for 3 months, took five lessons on landscape painting, was frustrated, then found your videos. Thank you for your demos, your lessons on perspective and drawing people and your urban landscapes. I live right in Chicago and you gave me the courage to try to paint an intersection in the Loop right after it rained! I attempted it twice, got better the second time but have far to go. I even painted people and a CAR! Thank you for sharing your talent but most of all your teaching. I like this type of demo and am amazed at all you create.

Thank you so much 😊🙏🏼 I am so happy to hear these gave you courage to try this! Plus, you did really well doing the same scene twice. It really does help and improve every iteration. I have several other similar vids on the way, including one that will be out in 30 minutes or so 😉

I FIEND KZbin art tutorials; after dozens of hours of watercolor content, this has been the most informative one on the site! Most "tutorials" are more a list of steps with a time lapse. The care you take to explain your thought process is much appreciated!!! Thank you so much!

"Real Time" a great lesson,especially for a beginner like me. The actual time and pace of creating is actually revealed. Really understanding the process is lost on the videos that speed up. Your dialog while creating while difficult for you is so helpful. I've mentioned before but i love the subjects you find ,just the everyday routine and it seems so relevant. A lesson in learning how to see the possibilities around us. thanks , tom
@LironYan5 жыл бұрын
I remember - I was so happy to hear the subjects themselves are appreciated 😊🙏🏼 I get many comments about how unusual they are sometimes. And this is great feedback - I see that so many prefer real-time. I actually consider (almost) never doing a time-lapse again 😂

Really enjoyed this real time tutorial. Would be on board for the idea of you doing a series of these right now. The added layer of narrating as you go has improved your focus. Such a large part of your mind is being required to both physically create the painting and explain what you're doing that less is available for the random, disconnected thoughts that tend to distract from the clarity and focus when you narrate after the fact. This makes for a more powerful presentation. Great work!

You have so many videos and I've been enjoying them even without ever painting - though you've inspired me to get some paint and give it a try - so I don't know if in the 2 years since this you've done a lot of real-time painting, but I do love that. I much prefer it to the typical KZbin timelapse stuff which is flashy but I think teaches so much less. If people want that, increase the video speed and put your own music one... IMO! Thanks Liron

This is great :) I’ve been doing live stream as a way to add more contents on my channel without doing much editing works. The only thing is I usually needs an hour and 1/2 to finish a painting so some people might find it too long.

@Liron I must say that it appears you have finally found your niche. These demonstrative real time videos seem to be what is missing from KZbin. You are finally fully flowing in showing your true skill. These videos are very informative and interesting. This is what will sell your products because we can SEE that what you print is also doable for others via your insight as you do it. The length of your videos are also great with the content. To hear the thought process EXCEEDS the all annoying music that most publishers use these days. That is one of the biggest reasons why most videos are not watched in its entirety...the content may be interesting, but if the soundtrack is not one fit all, MOST WILL GO...so I’d much rather hear the reason behind a process with GREAT CONTENT! Thank you! 👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽

I look forward to supporting you by purchasing your products and sharing your content with my best friend, who doesn't even do art, yet she makes sure to watch and like your content. Any input you can give on how to better make my paintings less photo duplicates would be greatly appreciated. This is why I will be doing a binge part 2...looking to improve.✍🏽😏

Liron don't you find that sometimes is better to lose a little of the contrast gained with very dark darks in watercolor, so the painting looks lighter? Whenever i go for the heavy darks my paintings seem to just die on me and i regret that i didn't leave it alone when was looking a lot fresher (even if the contrast are not as great as could be).

I definitely do find that (: I’m actually working on toning it down a little. In my last couple of works (statues series) I saved the darks for some small details, and filled the backgrounds with more of mid-values. Do what looks and feels good for you 😊👍🎨

What was the thought process behind painting the top part of the left building blue? Also why paint everything orange to start with? Pleassseeee help! 🙏🏻🙏🏻

Haha, this comes down to personal choice and taste (: I love to break everything down to simple colors. I look at a cool and ask myself - "Is it a red, a blue or a yellow? Then I go with that! Later on you can dim it by layering a different color 😉🎨 And specifically about the top part of the left building - there's a shadow there, so I thought it would be interesting to show a transition from cool to warm on the lower part of the wall.

Liron Yanconsky so the tree & floor area that you painted an orange colour first. You asked yourself is this tree a red? Blue? Or yellow? 😩 I thought trees were green. What am I missing ? 😔

@@401files4 It's very simple actually! (: The trees' green is made of yellow and blue. The thing is, I love to convey the sunlight and even exaggerate it. So using yellow seemed to be the better choice. Plus - it's easy turning pure light yellow into a dark blue / green, but it's very hard to layer light yellow on top of naturally darker blue. So I ALMOST ALWAYS put in the yellows before the blues (remember watercolor are transparent generally speaking, unlike oils when you can place white on black and bring back a highlight / light value). Same for the ground - I wanted to start with a light yellow, then I can darken it with the naturally darker reds and blues. And a final note - this also has to do with how I see things personally, my own impression. Others may see it differently and use different paints - which is 100% okay, and even recommended (; I hope this is helpful!
