These Painting Master videos are such an enjoyable addition to your demonstrations/tutorials. Your observations and analysis are pitch perfect, and such a pleasant way to get an art education. I've been trying to paint an hour for every hour I watch art videos (haven't quite managed it yet ;). Thank you for all the time and effort you put into your channel, it is very much appreciated.

Hi Liron, good teaching and showing Andy Evanson's paintings, i like his work very much , too. I have been watching you paint for 3 yrs and have learned a lot from you! QUESTION: In one Street scene by Andy, you were negative about the bright colours of the UMBRELLAS. i thought, the brightness made the Scene a liitle mote happy athmodphete, also it might have been his center of attention. I like the way you teach, very personal and refreshing 🎉 Jutta

The other thing Andy taught me in his workshop is connecting shapes. It harmonizes the composition and moves the eye across the painting easier. Andy has a new DVD out. Its not inexpensive but if watercolor is your thing its the next best thing to an actual workshop. He was a patient and personable instructor. Best workshop I ever took.

Hi Liron, I like your videos, but overall I like you as person, because you show great humility and in the meantime wish to learn the secrets of the watercolors. I'm a watercolor painter as well, and I try every day to learn as much as possible, thanks to the videos of my favourite watercolor painters, the same that you too have "celebrated" in one of your videos some time ago. Currently, I 'm trying to learn how to obtain very clean scenes avoiding useless details, and overall highliting the center of interest of the painting. For sure it's much more difficult to take off than add. If you want to interact with me sharing reciprocal experiences I'm absolutely available, in spito of my poor english... Thanks liron. What i really notice was how his shadows were not very dark and to me they are awesome. The second snow scene. The foreground colour was magical, i couldn't have been more realistic. Im loving your picture 👍👏👏👏 huge project. You forgot to point out how well you done all those people in the background 😛👏👏👏

A superb video, Liron - this Masters series is really becoming a great introduction to the works of so many talented artists. I'd never hears of Andy Evansen before, but his work really does have great visual impact. I especially love the way he simplifies so many of the elements of his paintings, thus leaving part of the 'creative process' to the viewer's eye and mind as he/she recreates the scene that the artist's eye originally saw. All great stuff and thank you for bringing so much great art to our attention. Cheers, Brian.

Liron my first watercolor workshop was an Andy Evansen workshop. I am so glad I stumbled on his work and took his workshop first. He took the information I had floating in my mind and brought focus. The guy is down to earth. The method he teaches is easy to understand. Your commentary of Andy's work is on track. HIs method is simple. Trying to execute it is extremely difficult.

I don’t like viewing my overworked paintings but I will continue to overwork my paintings because I learn that way. Overworking is attempts at problem solving including observations of what’s going on with form and light. All my lessons will add up to better observation, understanding and execution eventually leading to visually pleasing paintings.

Thank you Liron! Love the sheep painting. I especially love his use of orange/blue to express light... my own preference I guess because I'm so focused on shadows which all contain blue.. anyway a color scheme I use often. Good to see quite a bit of opaque paint.. dark to light. He has really mastered that blending of transparent and opaque to make areas "pop." Hard to pull off without making the opaques look like they don't fit... his mastery there, to me, is in his tones using some opaque in mid-range so highlighting with them doesn't look "foreign." I could be wrong but don't think so as I'm trying to do that myself at this time. I also like his use of large triangle shapes .... dancer painting is a great example but he uses it a lot to keep the eye within the triangle. I just like that particular composition. Thank you for show casing these works... excellent selection. Thanks again. Edit: Ah, you added your progress. I'm really enjoying that Liron. Are you using 300# paper? I've never done a watercolor that big and imagine a heavy paper is needed.

So amazing! As I was looking at the last painting of Andy Evansen's I thought to myself... "that really looks like the funeral home downtown... and hey, that really looks like the street it's on, too..." and sure enough, a quick Google search - it is in my town!! So I can tell you that he painted it (or took the picture) from a park that is up on top of a bluff overlooking this view! So he didn't need to invent the tree in the foreground framing the picture on the left, as there are trees up there (maybe he moved one slightly, I couldn't tell you that!) Anyway, it is a really beautiful painting and thank you for helping me find this painter with your recent interview.

Liron, going back to the penultimate painting you showed, the one painted from above.... Take a careful look at the shadows. In particular the dove in flight and the shadow it casts. This indicates as you rightfully say, the time of day.... Very low light.... It's Magnificent !!!

I have been watching you paint for years. I just loved how fast you came along, especially, combining shapes of equal value in the first light wash, then doing the middle values and in the end the dark touches. You made it look simple, that's what I needed as a beginner! Now i understand a lot more by watching other artist videos. My question re. your painting why so many people and details. It looks a little overdone! But I still like it, but wouldn't buy it. Not much atmosphere. 😂

With Andy, I realized how difficult it is to paint the bare minimum it is a talent on its own to simplify the way he does. simply genius. However, his perspective and drawing skills are beyond simple, he really draws everything to perfection, that second painting you showed, with the reference photo was amazing.

it looks like straight pencil lines coming down from the buildings in the background. why? just a suggestion, it would 'TIE' the eye movement together more, if you would add some very soft slightly darker horazontal lines in the very light tan road. ' A FELLOW ARTIST'

I loved this video. I didn't know Andy, he seems to be just a mortal like us, not some "Z" god of watercolor. Lol. I saw that there is a new video of him at APV. have you seen it? I do too sometimes think terrific is a bad word. Terrific and Terrible are similar words with opposite meanings. Keep it up Liron.

Haha this is what I LOVE about him and his approach - he conveys complete mortal-ness 😂 He stresses how important it is to simplify FOR YOURSELF, and also how hard things can get with painting. He really talks a lot about how without careful planning of the scene you usually have no chance 😉🎨
