Watercolor Sketching - Capturing Memories in less than 5 min.

Why do you sketch? Are you planning to make it a study and take color notes so that you can paint a studio piece when you return to your studio? Are you trying to capture a memory? In the next few weeks, I'm going to be working on capturing memories and trying to do them fairly quickly. I hope you can join me on the journey.
The sketch was made with a Micron 005 permanent pen, and the brush was a Pentel Large water brush. Watercolor palettes were mostly Daniel Smith.

Hi, Kari! My mom got me for my birthday a travel sketchbook and i thought cool, now I can be more like you! On another note, those sketches with the grapefruit slices and the glasses look so beautiful! Did you do a tutorial on those?

@@cymbidiumm no, but I will! I was teaching a Zoom class with a friend and I don't have that recording. I'll do that this week, why not! Thanks for the suggestion. Late on commenting. In Apalachicola area for a change of scenery. I’ve been experimenting with continuous line drawing as well and find it very freeing. The loose sketching makes drawing and painting a lot more fun and relaxing. I really liked the way you drew the palm fronds! Great tip on addressing areas that were too dark!
