I love the the ease that you seem to have with making the video. It really made me feel at ease and gave me a sense of peace. I love the painting. I have tons of pinecones from many different areas that friends send me. I am disabled so I can't really travel much. I found my stash of acorns that my friend sent me from Oregon the other day too. I've been buying Schminke watercolors one or two at a time for the last 6 months or more. So I think I will squeeze those into a new palette I have from Amazon and see what I have. I also love the earthy colors.

This is beautiful! I love how it turned out, it's kind of amazing how simple it is but it has such an impact. If you are looking for tree suggestions to draw, you should check out images of the Bristlecone Pine, it's the oldest tree in the world and it looks ancient in a really cool way.

Back again 🤩 Studying this one 🤓🧐🤔😳💖✨ I’ve had trouble with my pens drying out, too, and have been exploring using fountain pens that can be refilled and will function with permanent inks. And playing with the not so permanent inks on pieces like this where it might not matter so much if the inks run and spread... I haven’t settled on favorites yet... dry nibs create a similar situation as dried microns... but the nibs can be cleaned 🧼😁💖

It also affected the internet provider, so we couldn't get that until noon:30 p.m. Sat! Happily the power was out for only 2 hrs and not longer like can happen during bad T storms!! Michele, as always, I am so happy to see another video from you! I watched your pinecone video the other day and loved it. Today, watching this latest video, I'm really blown away by just how much the colored background added to the pinecone. Adding the branches, pine needles, and gold paint really completed this painting. This is just gorgeous! I want to paint this and hang it in my home, I want to make holiday cards, gift tags, and bookmarks. The possibilities are endless. As I was watching you sketch and shaping the structure of the cone it reminded me a bit of how one would sketch a Foxglove. I've seen your Foxglove video and that is beautiful as well.

Thanks so much 💝 I feel like I’ve finally found an artist that can help me get to the next level in a style that I really love 😍💖 FYI: I’ve had good results with lightly spraying the backs of my watercolor paintings after they are dried and then placing them face up under a piece of acetate, or something to protect the surface of my painting and then putting them under weight... a couple of books or sketch pads, etc.. until they are dry... they flatten out nicely.
@thecreativecove6898
@thecreativecove6898 Жыл бұрын
Thank you. So happy to hear that. That’s a good idea. You can also “stretch” watercolour paper it helps keep it flat however I would recommend a quality paper for that.

@@thecreativecove6898 watercolors can simply be flattened using a household iron..no steam no water i am a watercolor artist and have used this method for years, apply the heat to the back.. not the painted side... good luck

Watching your videos these last couple of weeks has inspired me to get back to sketching and "art" (vs. just crafting). You make it look so do-able. I love your style. I've ordered some new Staedtler sketch pens, dug out my drawing pencils and will likely get some colored pencils just for fun. I've long been a watercolorist/pen & ink person. I learned to paint well before I learned to draw (never really learned to draw, like learning to run before I could crawl) , so I feel like I'm going back to the starting gate but I love the doodle/relax/take it easy aspects of your lessons and projects. AND I'm building myself a couple of lap books also inspired by your channel. So, "Thank You🌼", not only for the inspiration ✨--but for all the work I now have in front of me 🦀. lol.

@@thecreativecove6898 I've been drawing and painting since I was old enough to grab a paintbrush in my fist lol. My mom's an artist and my father a photographer...so first things I learned: ABC, 123, red/yellow/blue and the rule of thirds, lol. I was headed for an MFA in painting, but veered left and got my degree in creative writing/creative nonfiction. I wander in and out of the pool of making Art with a capital A but have never left it behind entirely. I've been away from it for quite a few years and am jazzed to get back into splashing around in that sea of creativity. In fact my new pens should be in here today!! So JAZZED. Thank you again for all you do.
