Watercolour Techniques: Mixing Colours on Paper | Atmospheric and Misty Sunrise Landscape Painting

In this video, I demonstrate how I let my colours mix on paper to achieve a soft, hazy, and atmospheric look to a landscape

Payne's Grey (Rockwell Canada)
Potter's Pink (Schminke Horadam)
Olive Green (Daniel Smith)
Naples Yellow (Daniel Smith)
QuinacridoneSienna (Daniel Smith)
Burnt Umber (Daniel Smith)
Sepia (Daniel Smith)

Hello Anastasia. I need to ask you a question you answered before. Sadly I cannot find it in my Bookmark page. I asked what I could use if I did not have Oxide Red and Australian Gold. I believe you said to add sienna and red for the Oxide and cannot remember the Gold one. Many thanks in advance and sorry to be a pest Lamoine Dionne

Oh it's not a problem at all! I'll try to remember my answer. With Transparent Red Oxide, I am not sure what can be used for a similar granulation, but Burnt Sienna is very close to it in colour (but it doesn't granulate). Aussie Red Gold is just a very warm yellow (or a yellowish orange) so any transparent warm yellow with a bit of red or orange mixed in will work.

Another beautiful composition. I love the atmospheric background and the way the Potter's Pink and Olive Green compliment each other. I bought some Potter's Pink ages ago because I liked the soft colour but have never used it because I didn't know where to (except stone walls) - now I shall try it in landscapes thanks to this video!!
