This is my watering schedule for most of my house plants and what has worked for me. Keep in mind the temperature in your home, air flow, sunlight, season and even the soil type can influence when you need to water your house plants. Always follow the rule of thumb when it comes to watering, only water when your plant is dry... unless it's a Calathea or Maranta [water when 90-95% dry] lol

Thanks for the video! I love that you gave general guidelines when I usually hear that it depends, or to rely on physical changes. Having an idea of frequency and amount is very helpful to have a baseline so that I know when I should expect to notice physical cues.

Oh my gosh this video was sooo incredibly helpful to me - Thank you so much! Would you happen to have a video on lighting for your plants...like literally showing just how close are far you have them sitting from a window and which direction your windows might be facing for each plant? If you wouldn't mind either pointing me in the direction of that or perhaps making a video on it. I feel that I just don't know exactly what good lighting is..like if it's bright enough or too dark and it would be really helpful to actually see what different levels of brightness looks like. Thank you again so much and God bless all your plant babies! 🤗

Hi. As always your plants are beautiful. I have a string of hearts in my south facing window. She's doing really well, however I've read that you shouldn't water her until the top leaves are soft, is that what you do? Or do you just stick to your schedule of 4 to 6 weeks (I believe that's what was said). Please advise. Thanks.
@CrazyPlantGuy5 жыл бұрын
That is also a way to know when to water. Remember the SOH is around 2-3 weeks. But before I water I feel the hearts to see if it’s still plump or soft. If soft and the soil is dry, then I water. If the soil is dry and the hearts are. Ice and plump I’ll wait a few more days to water etc.

yahia larbi make sure it’s in the right place where there is bright light. It doesn’t have to be with other plants for humidity. The rubber plants don’t need that much humidity. They just need a nice spot with a lot of bright light, make sure you’re not over watering.

I have had a question about when to plant a plant that has been propagated in water. I dont want them to have to little roots but I don't want the roots to get use to being in water. Whenever I try and plant them in soil the just sit there like a leaf in soil they dont sprout any new growth. You should do a video on when and how to plant water propagated plants.

I've found that many houseplants will give you visual clues as to when they're thirsty. They starting looking "droopy"...throw some water at em and they perk right up. Probably not a good idea for sensitive plants like calatheas or rigid plants like sansevierias, perhaps, but in general it's often a reliable indicator.
@jaybee80125 жыл бұрын
Agreed. Fittonia, polka dot, China Doll, Dracenea, Oxalis, pothos, and Croton are some of mine that I watch and water when they start to droop. I water in the sink and give all of these the heavy water method of letting the water run through at least 3 times.
