This “Behlen Country” watering trough (2x2x4 feet, 103 gallon size) was purchased from Home Depot for $88.00. Its first purpose is for watering animals. It’s sturdy and should last for many years. The only modification I made was to drill five ¾ inch holes on its underside after I had removed the 1 inch drain plug from its side. I drilled the holes, as pictured in the video, to make sure that I had good drainage--to keep the water from pooling on the bottom that might lead to putrid soil.
I was very satisfied with the result of the raised metal garden box and went back for another one, but they were sold out at the Home Depot where I it was locally purchased. I hope they comeback for next year’s growing season and are sold at the same fair price.
