Used to shop at Waterloo in the 80s at their prior, smaller location. I would drive from Houston to Austin almost weekly to see what new product they had. I'm going to make a point to stop by there when I'm there at Thanksgiving! Woo Hoo!

Awesome! My first trip to Austin I came to Waterloo and dumped 150$ on vinyl. There was another shop down on the east side of Sixth St. under the highway that specialized in obscure metal cds and vinyl that was awesome too, but I can't remember the name. Anyways, great vid!

I got to visit a record store for the first time a couple of weeks ago. I don't remember the name, but it was in Ashville, NC. I picked up Ringo Starr's "Ringo," Simon and Garfunkel's "Wednesday Morning, 3 AM," and Allman Brothers' "Brothers and Sisters." I was thrilled to actually visit one for a change. :)

I just went there this afternoon and there were about fifty people waiting to get inside. We were just driving through and I wanted to get a record mat and luckily I was able to use their curbside service and get one and bypass the line. I remember seeing this video years ago and thinking "hm, neat store - but I live in Connecticut, so when would I ever go here?" Well, just two weeks ago, I flew down to Austin for Oblivion Access (a festival devoted mostly to various underground experimental and /or metal music) and - inspired by this video - I drove to Waterloo one morning. I loved their massive selection, including various weird stuff I like. I got three punk / garage LPs (Adolescents' self-titled, The Damned's Damned Damned Damned, and Coachwhips' Night Train), one CD (Radiohead's Kid A Mnesia), and an olive shirt with the Waterloo logo in orange. The staff were really nice and helpful in packing and shipping my stuff for me, and I told them about this video and your channel too. Thanks a lot!

Yes a great shop! I haven't been there since the '90's though. A trip to Texas for records shops would be incomplete without checking out Bill's records in Dallas, and unfortunately I did not find this in your videos.

Oh, and another record place that you can buy CD’s and vinyls is “Forever Young” store. They sell used to new albums there and the selection is pretty good to look and browse through.

There's a place I'm a regular at in my town called Hoodoo Records. Specializes in mostly rock dating from about the 50s to the 80s. Super small store but this place is packed with records. All ran by one guy too.

Every time I go into Waterloo I don't even bother with trying to find a spot over there... I just park at the Whole Foods across the street.... they have 2 levels of underground garage. I don't get to go in there as often as I used to, as I moved from Austin to Houston 4 years ago, but my folks still live just south of Austin so I do get a chance to go in there every so often. Really looking forward to getting back in there, as it will be my first trip since starting to collect vinyl very recently. (It used to be my go-to place for CDs previously) Also, if you're ever in Houston... come and check out Cactus records.

We don't have any shop like that here In the UK. We have Second hand record shops that have a Great selection. But not on the Scale You have over there. You get about Ten people In and It becomes Crowded and You can not browse comfortably. Love that store If I got In there I wouldn't want to leave so much good stuff to Look through. Keep Spinnin' (No G) that Vinyl.
