August 2024. Still brings a lump and a tear. Ray Davies will live forever and ever with this iconic and gorgeous homage. Love it to bits. Never grows old.

LOVED IT !! I've always loved this song. I arrived at Waterloo Station in June 1962 aboard a a train consisting of chocolate & cream coaches pulled by a lovely Pacific locomotive. Thank you so much.

Always had a soft spot for the dirty old river, long before it was gentrified. This song sums up the hustle and bustle and just watching the world go by.

Ray Davies knew what he was doing when he wrote this beautiful medley for his band The Kinks with his brother Dave Davies. Release in 1967 this song still sounds beautiful.

Well he actually meant to write it about Liverpool and the decline of Merseyside but replaced the words cause’ he felt the place had too much representation (ie the Beatles)
