Good information, liked the filling of the axles with grease to add weight.

Always like how you do your video Jason. You use what you can get your hands on. It's a great idea to paint the plasti dip on. That's what this hobby is all about, trying new ways to do things. Thumbs up bro!

I find it humorous, when I watch Build Videos, and the guy says "Be sparing with the Grease"! 😱 REALLY?? Like you, I FILL my Axle tubes and transmission output shafts with Marine Grease! 👍👍. Like you said, these things rarely go over 8mph..... So a little rolling resistance is no big deal. I'll have to try it on the Servo too! I hadn't thought of that. Great tips! Carmine 🚂

Conformal coating is only better because it has a much higher temperature it can handle before melting and it hardens pretty well. Liquid electrical tape and Plasti Dip can't handle as much heat, and if you're running your castle settings on HIGH, it can get pretty hot. For people who can't find Plasti Dip, look for 'liquid electrical tape'. It's basically the same stuff.

Fantastic, a guy at work has been promising me marine grease from his yacht club for months ha ha Seriously need to waterproof my Unimog properly. Nice how to vid, maybe the best waterproofing one I have seen (-:

***** Ha ha, I just got a big tub of it from a friend who sails at a yacht club on weekends yesterday. Will fill the mog up with it this weekend hopefully and get a run in, haven't had her out for a while (-:
@JaxTellerRC8 жыл бұрын
***** The Mog already weighs about 2 tonnes so a bit more won't hurt ha ha

***** The other way that I think is good is to wrap the sticky lead around the inside of the rim (inside the tire) you can still run foams that way. Hmm maybe you could cut holes into the inner side of the foams and jam larger lead BBs into the foam?
@JaxTellerRC8 жыл бұрын
***** My Unimog is so tall and so top heavy but with all that weight way down low in the tires makes it virtually unstoppable, I think it is the best solution, but yes problematic if running foams

How long can you keep the greace in the bearings an drive shaft
@colibrifpv2 жыл бұрын
Sorry for not responding. Theoretically... forever if you never run it, annually if you run it often, and every 3 or 6 months if you expose it to a lot of water...

How do you keep your body from rubbing when you run 2.2 tires. I have a lift too but my Power Wagon body still rubs with 1.9 tires. What size shock are running?

so ill be getting a yeti and want to waterproof the bearings though you mentioned grease wasn't good for speed, does it reduce the speed by a lot? By the way, I plan on running 2cell batteries on it so I don't really seek speed. So would grease ok to use
@rauda30708 жыл бұрын
+The RC Cave I see the yeti in between, not a crawler yet not a speedster and don't plan on facing very harsh environments with it, just mild water coverage for rain, snow and maybe light mud. Would WD40 be good enough for me? By the way I plan on getting the rtr version.
@rauda30708 жыл бұрын
+The RC Cave I'm also considering filling up the axles with marine grease, (if that's a good choice) because as this will be my first RC I would like to take care of it. What's your thought?

***** Bwahahahah😂😂 I'll have to try that😂😂😂😂 Yep, dust for 8 months then water😉 It's a lovely Windy Autumn in Melbourne, up north is the crazy rain (Queensland, Northern Territory & Western Australia) cop that weather, it's more sedate for me(we do get pretty good thunderstorms) But it's cold,, Brrrrr I've actually got my thermals on tonight, it's 11°c 😂😂 👍👍
