I cry my heart out everytime I watch the film and hear this song. Its one of my faves so I play it alot, its good to have a cry sometimes just to release all the build up inside of you.

Well I was only 14 yo ( 1978 ) when this movie came out, But now I'm 53 yo ( 2017 ) and I still got tears come out from my eyes....
@michaelfranklin42762 жыл бұрын
This is a song you can vaguely make out from a distance, and it unsettles you. The bittersweet melody and haunting lyrics keep pulling you back like the black rabbit lurking around you. This was my very first impression of the song. You know something awful is going to happen, but you can't abandon the rabbits. That's how quickly their blood seeps into yours. This movie (the 1978 version) is truly a rite of passage for everybody, young and old alike. I'm so glad Blackavar didn't die in the book. His bloody sacrifice though, gave the movie that mental scar in your mind that stays with you always. Peace be with these rabbits.

Wow that just blew me away reading that, and I just realised, I'm crying, I'm a 51 yo, Man and I was five when the film came out, and this was my favourite song, listening to it now just took me flooding back, thanks for you're comment, it meant something to me.👌💯.

This is by far "personally spoken" one of the saddest songs ever created. Think the song and tunes speak for themselves, no further explanation needed. Just cry cry and cry. Thanks for all the tears!

You know, I understand Fiver and I’m like him because… I used to have cat who was *literally* like a big sister to me. I’ll never forget her. Just like Fiver will never forget Hazel. I love Watership Down and I thank it because Watership Down understands how I feel. It’s good to cry out my feelings once in awhile for my beloved ones that I love deeply. I understand the quote Fiver says: “No, Hazel’s not dead” Hazel’s in Fiver’s big heart just like my big sister cat is in mine! If you think about it, our thoughts, feelings and words predict our future. Heck! It happened to me. Watership Down is a piece of art!!! Some people are kind enough to the earth and some people don’t even care. But I do!! We NEED to protect the earth more!! #protecttheearth #rabbit #watershipdown #hazel #fiver #brighteyes

The series differed from the book a lot and added stuff from the second book too, the silver rabbit doing the magic trick is Silverweed who unike the books joins Hazel after some other events that were not in the book. it was magic that the mouse, Hanah, got from Hedge, the wizard. It is all very strange so I recommend watching the series if you want to have everything all cleared up.

Same with all other series that have been edited "for kids" these days. Why they have to redo these movies and series, because they never gave any traumas anyway?
