Waterside House Campsite, Ullswater, Lake District in the Campervan

That has brought back some very happy memories. The campsite was the first one Steve and I stayed at over 30 years ago. We loved it then so must go back. We have also stayed at Park Foot with friends and had a brilliant holiday. Take care Gill

Thanks Gill, we have stayed at Park Foot a few times over the years but had never been to Waterside House (all be it know plenty of people who had and went back many times) - we really enjoyed it and would certainly go back. Beautiful countryside. What a lovely site too. We would love it there. Right by the lake. Stunning. The Gathering had some nice little shops. All looked really clean & tidy. Loads of room for Roxy to roam as well. Looked so tranquil. Nice you got out for a good row round👍. What a lovely walk into the village. Beautiful place. Roxy looked much better after her sting ❤️🐶and clearly enjoyed her paddle. Bless her. I’m with you on the site. It’s lovely. 👍😊

Thankyou l have visited lovey bridge many times on public transport . I have also push bike and camped some years ago at a site a short walk from Ambleside so enjoyed viewing your van camp experience . Nice,y presented and so glad you got firm weather . Enjoy all your furpture van trips . 👋🙏👋🙏👋 .

Hi Tim, the site surprised us, we’ve been aware of it for years and have stayed at Park Foot previously but thought we would give it a go and we would go back. We were pleased Roxy recovered ok as thought we may have had to cancel otherwise and look after her but she bounced back ok following the trip to the vets. Thank you. All the best, David & Rachel 👍

Hey there, I just viewed your video again after we managed to get booked up in July so been looking at some drone footage of the site to get an idea where we might want to pitch. I think I spotted where you pitched after pausing your video on 12:18 Is that your camper at the bottom of the screen on 12:18

Hi well spotted yes that was us. It was a great place to pitch as you were right on the lake front with direct access to the water. It does get very busy down that end mind so it really is luck if you manage to bag one of the best slots. It’s a great site & Pooley Bridge is well worth a visit too Rachel & David 💗

Waterside House is a lovely site and now it looks like you can have a free breakfast whilst doing the washing😂😂. Pooley Bridge is a lovely village especially now the new road bridge is finished which was a pain during the works. I think Ullswater is my favourite sailing lake especially at the Patterdale end. Hope Rachel had some bubbles in her glass whilst you were relaxing. Take care guys Cheers K.

We were really impressed with it and fell on our feet with the pitch we got by pure chance. Ullswater is great isn’t it. I think she refrained until we went into Pooley Bridge. It’s great the new bridge is finished and quite different to the old one isn’t it. All the best, David & Rachel 👍

Good Morning and thank you very much. It was Thursday 21st - Friday 22nd July when we went, it was reasonably busy but not too bad. Good Morning, Thank you - we have a DJI Mini 3 Pro drone - I always said I wouldn’t get something else like that as I am pretty rubbish at coordination and lots of things over the years ended up in bits but the technology has moved on so much and it’s pretty easy to fly. It does have some limitations such as no side or upward obstacle avoidance so you need to be careful still but it’s pretty easy to fly and nice the remote has the screen on so no faffing on with cables and phones etc. personally really pleased with it. Hi, I am sure it could get noisy with it not having booked pitches, however when we were it wasn’t noisy. It was very busy but we found people to be very respectful of not being too noisy. I am sure it all depends on who is near you etc. We throughly enjoyed it when we were there. Hope this helps Rachel & David 💕

What a fantastic site, love it. How lucky were you to get a lakeside spot as well, just perfect. We have friends who have a caravan at Gillside Farm near there, have you been to that one?
