She's pretty popular though, in Japan she's always either 3rd or 4th in popularity polls, behind Nico and Maki and always battling with Umi for third place. He even says it at 2:40 that she's very popular. I only ever see people in "the west" crying about how annoying and high pitched her voice. I just guess that these people haven't watched much anime in general.

Thank you for giving Kotori the justice she deserves. I’ve seen so many people chock her up to simply annoying or just moe when they fail to see how important she is to the story. She pushed Umi to join μ’s, her season 1 arc is what gave Honoka a wake up call to her one track mind and even if it seems likes she’s always following in suit, Kotori is choosing to support her friends as much as she can. The scene between her and Nico when they’re making costumes has my favorite line from Kotori. Because yes it seems like they wasted times but to her, costume making has always been her job and she takes pride in it. She’s inspired by everything the group does and while they don’t always succeed at the very least they can all learn and grow together. Kotori’s growth is perfectly symbolized by a baby bird. She may have learned to fly on her own but baby birds still need to be in the nest until they become old enough to be alone. Kotori grew to make her own decisions but she’s still at an age where her future is simply that. She doesn’t have to change her life anytime soon and supporting her friends is all she wants now. It’s fitting that the first line of Start Dash is sung by her in the original performance because no one fits it better than Kotori. Another great video in this series and I can’t wait to see the next one. Here’s hoping that maybe it’s Riko because I feel so many people misunderstand her

*Before watching* Never have I clicked so fast. I've always wondered your thoughts on Kotori. In a way, I hoped you'd help me better understand her and find more appreciation in her. *After watching* I legit want to cry now... Kotori is not an ordinary character in muse. There's definitely something special and hidden that not many people understand about Kotori. She's my favorite character because I love mysterious characters and she's certainly one of them. Many people don't like squeaky voice, sure, Kotori's a quiet and somewhat shy and indecisive, but hell, she's one of the strongest characters because she's putting up with too much crap around her, especially Honk's. Even the LLSIF stories show that she's not just a plain character, she has that unknown side to her. I always liked to compare Kotori and Nozomi for that weird matter, they're kinda similar but NOT the same.

Since Ruby and Riko's birthdays are coming up soon I hope you decide to do a video on Riko specifically because there is a lot of parallels between Kotori's letter from the US and Riko's piano competition and the different outcomes. Mostly because I like that Love Live shows that it's not always about doing what you think you should do but doing what you want to do and I think that's important! Same thing with Eli's choice to join µ's. When Honoka told Kotori her feelings about Kotori leaving Kotori didn't just listen to Honoka because she really wanted to stay, Riko, on the other hand, wanted to perform with the rest of Aqours but her original goal from the beginning was to be able to play music again and Chika didn't want to take that away from her. Idk I just think its interesting.

Kotori was my best girl for 3 years before I changed to Nozomi. I always felt so bad for changing my best girl cause she's been there with me for 3 years now. She's now my 3rd best girl and I hate myself for changing so easily. Though Nozomi is my favorite still and won't change any time soon, I still love Kotori and I hope she had a great birthday. She's always been there when no one else was. I love Kotori with all my heart and even though she isn't my favorite anymore, I still love her the same way I did 3 years ago (I just grown to like Nozomi more)

Back when I first got into LL in April, Wonderful Rush was the first song I listened to as well as being the first full PV I watched with my brother (we were curious about the CG). After that, some early clips I watched included Kotori (Kotori WHAT and UMI ONEGAI~).
