I now play mainly on the PS5 and the upgrade is definitely noticeable. My worlds run so much smoother and more stable, the max visibility is so noticeable - I really love it!

I just downloaded the new PS5 version & it is visually more clear & the game play is much smoother. I also love the fact that we can now edit our characters in game instead of going all the way back to the main menu. I also noticed the fact that we can take screenshots in game now. I am just hoping there was an update for being able to add banners to maps now because for some reason we weren’t able to do that on the PS4 (bedrock) version.

The PS5 and Xbox Series GPUs are built on the RDNA2 architecture from AMD, and fall somewhere in the low-to-mid range performance tier of that generation. Even the most powerful RDNA2 graphics cards (those you’d find in a high-end gaming PC) struggle with heavy ray tracing workloads. With Minecraft RTX we’re talking about full-on path tracing, that means everything is being ray traced not just reflections or shadows. It’s beyond what current gen consoles are capable of.

@@adastra6747i do agree path tracing is way ahead for these consoles but minecraft doesnt really need to be path traced You do know that xbox series x had a preview like 4 years ago in which there was ray tracing that was running at about 50 fps U could only play that preview for like some weeks as they took it down later but what im tryna say is that if a non optimised rtx version of minecraft running on xsx could run on 50 fps ish so ofc they can also optimise rtx for these consoles and add them Its been 4 years already if they actually wanted to add rtx to consoles they couldve easily done it they are just too lazy to optimise anything Even an rtx 2050 can run minecraft rtx at 30 ish fps minecraft rtx is not path tracing Ps5 and xsx are equal to a RX 6700 or an Rtx 3060 ti so yeah

@@ItzApotato5907 What I can say for sure is that Minecraft RTX for Windows is full path tracing, it’s stated outright multiple times on NVIDIA’s website. I’ve played the showcase worlds on my 6800-XT so I’m familiar with how demanding it can be on more powerful AMD hardware. FPS fluctuates anywhere between 30-60 for me, usually somewhere in the lower middle range. Remember that an RX 6700 is roughly equivalent to a 3060 ti in rasterization, not in ray tracing. An RTX 3080 would easily beat out my card in this scenario, and also has the benefit of DLSS upscaling whereas AMD cards have to render at native resolution. Pretty sure the console preview was path tracing as well, although maybe with less accuracy / rays per pixel. As far as that goes, I seem to remember that it was released accidentally, and the Series S was running at around 15fps. They had it working decently well on Series X (honestly much better than I’d expect given comparable RDNA2 performance on Windows), but it clearly wasn’t viable enough for a full release on both consoles since they ultimately gave up. It is a shame Microsoft stopped aiding in development and Mojang just sort of dropped it though, I agree that with further optimization, cutbacks and the inclusion of FSR it could’ve at least been consistently playable on Series X and PS5.

A bit unrelated but l've been having this issue signing into my Microsoft acc on the Minecraft menu. Every time I put the code and my info, it says error my acc is already connected even tho it isn't connected to another console or device because I checked. I even made a brand new Microsoft acc and tried signing into that but it STILL said my acc was already connected which makes no sense, l've been having this issue for months now and even with the new PS5 version of Minecraft it's still giving me the same issue

Does the mob spawning seem noticeably worse? It’s like mobs only spawn where you look and it makes the game feel very unnatural. The ps5 has more than enough power to have mobs rendered but I’m constantly watching them just appear in front of me

hi I'm Robert I'm using my mom's phone right now.Bruh it's so unfair cuz PS5 are still hundred dollars so my dad wasn't able to get me one and I live in an area where there's no Walmart nearby and my family doesn't exactly believe in cars we like to walk plus we don't have the money or skill anyways so. It's stupid cuz every time they make a new device there's less and less of them cuz there's wars and just getting lower and lower on resources so if they were smart they should just recycle PS4s and make PS5 so that way there could be more PS5 than the price can be low enough for people to actually buy. Mojang should do a parody update for bedrock edition. Cuz there's things that Java have that bedrock doesn't for example on bedrock if you want to play with keep inventory it's impossible to do it without cheats being turned on and not being able to get achievements. Example number two on Java edition when you create a new world if you want you can create a single biome world or do whatever you want but bedrock there's basically nothing just you choose in between a normal world in a flat world. You can't customize your flat world and you can't customize the regular world. Mojang should take the Minecraft editor mode that's easy to use and add it into the vanilla game. So like when you make a creative mode world you should then be able to play around with the editor mode everyone knows how to use because it's easier to understand. And I mean like in the base game. Plus not to mention that Java has no glitched structures or nothing and so Mojang needs to get their act together and fix everything cuz they keep saying they fixed something when they add something to the game in a major update and it's glitched they say they fixed it but yeat it's never fixed they need to actually fix everything. And I'll know if they're lying cuz you can't say you fixed something but it's not fixed when it's something where you'll be able to see if they're lying or not like a structures generation.
