@Mircea most of that video was filmed on an outgoing tide, there's a lot of water moving through that inlet when the tide is going out. Tide rushing out into open ocean waves creates a messy inlet.

I'm always surprised and confused when people are nearly through the inlet and them decide to just turn around and head back in. In smaller boats I guess I get it, but some of them are totally capable vessels just saying "Okay, forget this." It cracks me up.

If I had a bunch of money I'd design a boat that with a push of a button, it would activate a hyrdo foil to let you have a smoother ride. It would be like driving a 4x4 truck and being able to shift into 4wheel drive on the fly when you need it but in this case it would be for rough and choppy conditions.

These videos are fun to watch but alarming too. Every Capt. is responsible for the safety of guests and crew and the seaworthy status of their boat in prevailing conditions. When people get hurt on boats they often get new nicknames..3 fingered Dave...no toes Jones..no teeth Steve.... deck boat in Miami is perfect for sandbar, cruising to lunch, hanging out with friends... and ok for the ocean too, just need to pay attention to tide changes and sea conditions. In South Florida (Miami area) about 90% of the time it is flat calm off the coast so deck boats are fine.
