Great reaction to The Warning and I subscribed to your channel because of your musical knowledge and your appreciation of The Warning. They are the number 1 rock band in Mexico. These sisters are AMAZING! I've been following DP&A for 3 years and this TEDX presentation got me hooked. I'm 68 and this is the only band I've ever supported financially. They have 1 EP and 2 full albums and were just signed by Lava Records after 7 months of negotiations last year. They're now 21, 19, and 16. They have not been resting on their laurels. This one's still my favorite, and won't be easy to dislodge -- it's just too much fun -- but they're far advanced from this by now. Listen to Choke, both the video and the live performance in their studio at home (called "the Cave"); it's the first single from their forthcoming album. The second album, which they released in 2018, is fascinating. It's a concept album; they've used the term "rock novel", and "rock opera" would be appropriate. The story is about a woman who develops a crush on someone we never meet and who may not even know she exists, and then, over the course of four chapters of three songs each (plus a prolog or overture) goes completely off the rails. Not the kind of theme one thinks of teenagers writing. And the music varies tremendously in style, (not quality, which is uniformly extremely high). You may want to watch the Lunario CDMX ("CDMX" is an abbreviation of "Ciudad de Mexico", i. e. Mexico City) show, where they presented the whole album for the first time. As for this song, they've fiddled with the opening. It's still a light opening with the abrupt entrance, but they sometimes play it with guitar and bass rather than keyboard if they don't have a keyboard. Pau's acting has taken on a much heavier tone; she's now seriously ticked off at the object of this song, who is about to turn into a human drum kit.

Very enjoyable reaction! I appreciate your insights and your close attention to detail. You'd be surprised how many reactors miss that broken drum stick. The first song from this 2017 TEDx performance, "Unmendable" has a jaw-dropping performance by that 14-year-old beast on drums and is highly recommended. Their third album is due to come out "soon" and they just released the debut single, "Choke, " which is worth watching .... repeatedly. The growth of these girls musically (and in Ale's case physically) in 4 years has been amazing. Would love to see more from you!

Great reaction and breakdown! WOW! Just some things to note. :-) If you turn off auto iris/brightness on your phone camera, it won't do that. What's probably happening is when you move and your face or background lights up more, it's compensating for that change in light level because it's in auto. Set it to manual and it won't do that. PAU, the drummer, also controls the backing track on that laptop you see next to her kit. They also play to a click track and they all have in-ears. In other live shows you'll see she also controls the huge background screen they've added to their shows. As far as that piano track goes, they ALL are classically trained pianists. So, that track was played/recorded by them and then programmed into the backing track. I'm looking forward to your future The Warning reactions! Subscribed!

Being a musician yourself I am certain you know the dynamic behind solid live performances. For every hour on stage these most dedicated young sisters put in hundreds, if not thousands of hours in rehearsal ….. Practice practice practice until it becomes so completely second nature in performance that they don’t even have to think about it “muscle memory baby!” That way both the girls and the audience can fully enjoy their time together. Very interesting analysis. I've seen many reactions to this performance but your breakdown of it was great. This is the first original song from this band I heard. Right away I was amazed at the chances these very young women took writing this. From the opening. Which was brave. Then the song switching up vocals. Also brave. Then a 1 minute jam to end the song. I heard somewhere that when Paulina started drumming, she was so small that she needed to beat the shit out of her drums to get the sound she wanted....she just never stopped. Don't know if it's true, but it should be.

Since all 3 began with classical piano... A lot of the time the keys for the backing tracks are recorded by Pau, the drummer. Also, the laptop to her left controls their click track, backing track and in the past few years background graphics and it also interfaces with the guitar pedal board(s). Pau has become an accomplished programmer in Ableton 10. She has a gear video on KZbin that shows how that part is set up. Dani and Pau together also have a video on the programming of the pedal board and how they use channels to make the most of what the single guitar can do. Of course all 3 are outstanding musicians. They have several acoustic versions also where their skills are even more evident. BTW, the youngest is the bass player. At 16 she is a signature artist of Spector. The Alejandra Villarreal model bass is available beginning this year. Their most recent release is Choke from their 3rd studio album. That is the best way to explain how much they have grown since the video you have reacted to.

Good commentary. These young ladies are simply amazing. Spector is producing a Signature Series bass in the name of the now-16 year old bassist (Ale). The drummer (Pau) sings lead while pounding the drums furiously with ease. Dany covers lead and rhythm guitar while acting out the emotions of the song - particularly visible in their Queen of the Murder Scene, a concept album that follows a girl's descent from love to obsession to stalking, murder, and madness. And Choke is out, from their upcoming 3rd album, a powerhouse that hits you like a truck.

The Warning are three sisters that started making music very young Alejandra (Ale = Aleh, not the beer. Bass, backing vocals and keyboard, the youngest- 16 as of March 2021) and Paulina (Pau = Pow. Drums, backing/lead vocals and keyboard, middle sister 19 as of March 2021) at 3 and Daniela (Dany = Dany. Guitar, lead vocals and keyboard, the oldest 21 as of March 2021) 5, all learning classical piano. They got the video game Rock Band and fell in love with the feeling of performing on other instruments. Their father asked if they wanted to learn another instrument and the girls jumped at the opportunity and gravitated to the instruments they played in Rock Band. They had been uploading their musical journey to KZbin for their family to see and had wanted to try and play music together as a band around 2012 and rehearsed for a small performance for their school xmas show. Well They loved the experience so much they began learning and playing cover songs of hard rock and metal bands. One song in particular shot them into the limelight. That song, "Enter Sandman" by Metallica had gone viral (currently over 22 000 000 views) and had gotten the attention of Metallica, Dee Snyder and The Ellen Show!.The Warning wrote, composed and recorded an EP called Escape the Mind in 2015 to experience that whole process and to determine what type of music they liked to make... Thankfully they chose Rock/Hard Rock! Ellen Degeneres invited the band to play live on her show, to which they accepted and played Crazy Train by Ozzy Osbourne, after the performance Ellen and Target awarded the sisters $10 000 each to attend Berklee School of Music in Boston. They performed a number of small and large shows afterward and began writing and composing new material for their first full length album XXI Century Blood in 2017. They supported this album with some very high profile gigs like opening for Def Leppard and separately The Killers for two shows each in Mexico. Also following other large rock bands in a couple music festivals. In 2018 they wrote and recorded Queen of the Murder Scene and released it in November of that year and have toured Mexico and South American venues. In June of 2019 they released a single, Narcisista. A scathing rebuke of their Mexican critics that had accused the band of being "Malinchista" a Mexican term used to call out cultural traitors, because the group has only recorded English language songs. Well this song is in Spanish and it is full of attitude and angst fired toward those critics. This was recorded live in June 2019 at Foro Didi in Monterrey Mx (their hometown) - kzbin.info/www/bejne/hWiscnieg5mFg68 The Warning is totally fan funded through Patreon, KZbin and crowdfunding platforms like GoFundMe and Kickstarter. They have turned down offers from record labels and talent shows like American Idol because they did not want to lose their control of their music, image and wanted to focus on learning. In fact in one interview with a record label they were asked if they would rather play to 12 people or 12000. Paulina piped up and said The Warning would rather play in front of 12 if it meant they would keep their integrity and could play the music they want to play, how they want to play... That is the most Rock n Roll quote ever! So after a very successful Kickstarter campaign to raise fund for a North American tour and to record a new album achieving their goal within 24 hours and surpassing that goal by 600%. Unfortunately the Covid19 Pandemic forced the band to cancel their tour plans and postpone making their album. Their last live show before the global lock down was March 14 2020 at the Vive Latino 2020 Festival in Mexico City.This did not stop The Warning from performing though, they played a full concert set from their basement studio/rehearsal space for free for their fans on KZbin and Facebook achieving well over 50000 simultaneous viewers on March 25 2020. They have since performed from The Warning a couple more times including for the city of Brownsville Tx for the Fourth of July virtual celebration and later in the summer for a charity event with rock legends like Slash and Ringo Star. On August 9th 2020 The Warning announced to their Patreon community that after seven long months of negotiations they had signed a five record deal with Lava Records a label under the Republic Records and Universal Music family. During the announcement they reiterated their dedication to their own creative integrity and dedicated fans on Patreon and were able to retain both in their record contract with Lava. In Sept of 2020 The Warning traveled to New Jersey USA to begin rehearsal and eventually recording of their third album. After 3 months of recording and a month and a half of mastering, mixing and editing the third album was completed at the beginning of February 2021. All that remains as of 22 02 21 is the album design and artwork and logistics of the release which will hopefully happen by the end 2021. This is still a great performance to watch. They are so in sync and they have fun while playing this advanced kind of composition. Hey. I've very much enjoyed your Yoyoka reactions. Glad to see you getting tuned in to one of my favorite "new" bands. What these girls are especially good at is songwriting (34 original songs now and imo all of them good) and performing live. Check out anything from their 2018 Lunario CDMX concert or even their 2016 performance at Dakota Bar when they were still quite young. Edit: Oh yes also their 2019 or 2020 (can't remember which) Whiskey A Go Go sold out performance. All great. Edit 2: Also one other cool fact. The girls decided to become a rock band after becoming addicted to playing the video game Rock Band. Years later, the girls were surprised when the 2018 edition of Rock Band included this song, Survive. There's a fun video you can watch of the girls playing their own song Survive on Rock Band.

@WavePotter - It's been a year since you did this reaction, so my apologies if someone else pointed this out. Paulina actually broke 2 sticks. OldSkulNerd pointed this out on his video. At 6:12 we see the first and most major break, looks like half of it splits off. So Pau tosses that one and gets a new stick without missing a beat. But then at 7:59 you can barely make out another splinter flying off upstage. Does Pau use too much power? Yes. Can she get the same quality of sound while hitting less vigorously, yes...especially because her kit is well microphoned. But it's her performance style, her art form and it looks awesome! It's why we call #PAUerful!

Yep these young ladies have a great understanding of music theory and since they live together and have a studio in their basement to practice it makes it so much easier for them to hash out a song when one of em comes up with great idea.
