You and Champ of Medium are the two reactors that I have heard the most (and Ryan Mear has touched on it also) discuss how Akane's drumming enhances the solo. Champ said one can have the coolest riffs in the world but if the drumming is boring then the solo is going to get boring.

This is one of my favorite Band-Maid songs. Anytime I want to feel good I listen to this song. It just feels so uplifting and the "far away" refrain is just chef's kiss so choice. The composition of this is song brilliant. Sooo much going on with it. This is one of the very, very few songs that I actually prefer the studio version over the live version. Now, you mentioned the lighting in the video... if you notice the colors correspond to the various sections of the song. In the first 2 choruses the lighting is red as the tension is building... then the lights turn white as they go into bridge leading to the solo... then as all the tension releases and we get the reprise with "far away" the lights strobe red, white, blue... its a simple, yet well crafted music video that was brilliantly shot. The cinematograply, lighting choices, and the lack of focus on their faces. If you notice you never really get a full shot of their faces. I think that was a brilliant stylistic choice. Forces the viewer/listener to focus on the song itself. And my favorite is MISA and Saiki during the triangle lights... just sublime.

I affectionately call this one the "homework assignment". Kanami had everyone write a part and bring it back to be put together into a song. I remember it is this song because the "far away" bridge is 100% Miku writing vocal harmonies.

The personal dynamics and compositional quality are Beatles level. Kanami is Paul. Akane is Ringo. Saiki is John. MISA is George. Miku is……. the MAID. A visionary, a vibration, a life force, the spirit of music and love, the connective power, the lightning rod that brought us together, the magic pigeon who frees us with her flight.

Miku is both John and Paul as she's penning nearly every word they sing these days. Even before 'Alone' came about, she was writing a huge chunk of the B-M lyrics. That young lady is at a genius-level when it comes to songwriting.

This is one band that what is on the album, they can play it live. So damn talented for being so young. We're so lucky we get many more years of these ladies. They must practice non stop to be as good as they are live. I just hope to get to see them here in Idaho since we don't get a lot of really great bands.

Yay ! You did Blooming. I had so much to say about this but then I got Bloomed out and just sat there and enjoyed watching you enjoy it as much as I do. Thanks Wave. I used to sing semi professionally in my younger days, it is possible to snatch small shortly spaced breaths and keep yourself topped up but you need a good diaphragm to hold the majority of the air back as you just fill up in between the short spaces. Pleased you picked up on the way Akane compliments the guitar solo. The girls are just all round geniuses and I thank everyday that I found them. Oh it looks like I had more to say anyway, not suprising it is Band Maid and my favourite song !
@nogarddragonkin3 жыл бұрын
this is the song i think about when i think about BandMaids music...it show cases so much of what they do all in one song...insane drum fills and feel. killer bass lines . amazing guitar work. majestic vocals with heavely harmonies. its fast its slow its everything in between. it starts a bit classic then really ramps up. it has a guitar solo that really isnt a guitar solo but a bass,drum and guitar solo layered on nd enhancing each other the vocals range from omg as you said when does she breath to wow what harmonies and keeps you engaged and excited until the very last beat... you talked about how Akane toned down a little and kept the stability while the guitar and vocals danced. its a skill ive noticed in band maid any one of the five can and do leaving the others to creative. its hard to focus on one member especially in a song like this as they are all doing so much to enhance the song..but honeslty you could have used any part of this song be it guitar ,bass,drums,or vocals and built a killer song around it...but our Maids put it all together to make this magic

They are FOR SURE the most versatile band EVER! I mean how different their songs are all the time is just mindblowing. They are all over the place and it ALWAYS is an AMAZING song! For me they are the best band and most of the other bands got so boring for me... It almost seems most of the other bands are lazy, because they have no creativity and are always staying in their comfortzone, not allowing themselves to experiment and maybe learning from mistakes. I don´t say other bands are BAD in general, it´s just a feeling i have since i know Band-Maid, i am still listening to other bands and music, but MAN! is Band-Maid GREAT and UNIQUE, especially Kanami´s compositions... Greetings from Germany!

This song contains it all. Everything that is Band Maid Trade Mark is here, beautifully written and played. I don't know if it's because of the way it was written (as a kind of brainstorming where each of the ladies made her contribution) but the result is encyclopedic. All the things Band Maid does when doing Band Maid things can be taught over throughout this song. Great job Wave, two well deserved likes.

Yes, Misa has been trying more things with her hair. And I love that Akane's hair is longer and looks so great when she slings her head and it goes airborne. Yeah, irrelevant to their music I know. Blooming is in my top 3 Band Maid songs along with Choose Me, Puzzle, Bubble and Manners, and Freezer and Sayonakidori (Miku's from Unseen World). I always look forward to your Band Maid video's - I don't mind that you pause as often as you do as you always have something intelligent and informative to say..... and 9/10 time you backtrack the MV. It's your live streams that gives me the "willy's", however, if your wife is with you, it's great as she keeps you on track...lol. You said that Band Maid reminds you of your "old" favourite music.... (Muse and the Powerpuff girls??) That's pretty much what they do. Some of their influences struck me..... Kanami - Santana (Hence PRS), Akane - Ian Paice (Deep Purple) and Nao Kawakita (Maximum The Hormone - a band you should check out) and MISA has sited Paz Lenchantin from The Pixies and The Smashing Pumpkins as influences. What they do is new, but familiar to "experienced" listeners.

Bro, plz check another all girls Japanese Metal Band: HANABIE - song WE LOVE SWEETS TRIDENT-JAPAN - songs VOLTAGE, NO REGRET ASTERISM - songs DAWN, RISING MOON, LIGHT IN THE DARKNESS
Another song where Misa hardly ever just keeps the bass rhythm. Nearly the whole song she is playing lead baselines up & down the neck. Brilliant. That's probably why Akane laid back in the complexity of the drums. It was up to her to keep a clean rhythm on her own. Just more brilliant song writing from these women. What I would like to know is, does Kanami write the bass lines as she writes the songs? Or does she tell Misa what she wants, and let her work her magic, and lay down what she feels? I'm sure there is a lot of collaboration either way. But it would be nice to have an idea on the basic process. Same for the drums. But I would assume that is mainly up to Akane.
