Cats are taking over the offshore market here in south florida now, most commercial/charter guys are running them because of their ability to take a beating. Venice, LA is all cats and thats the largest commercial fishing fleet in the country.

Had a Glacier Bay 2680 Yeah they look cool but out in the ocean the ride sucked. Thought my spine was going to come out my mouth a couple times. Deep V Grady White Marlin is the way to go.

Bought the 2001 Glacier Bay back in 2019, Took it out the Golden Gate 6 times for salmon. It did catch salmon, but each trip it bottomed out many times at 20 knots, in average water NOT ROUGH. When it bottoms out it's like landing on concrete. It was a great fishing platform with a wide flat deck and it wouldn't lean over if all the guys were on one side. Also the heavier you loaded it the worse it rode due to an already small air gap becoming even smaller. @@csrboltfan2643
