Yeah, I was surprised how good the tape emulation really is when you overdrive and saturate, it sounds better than any saturation plugin I have used.

@@Digiphex yes, TE has proven themselves with quality production. My OG1 and pocket operators offer that studio sound for funky creations. TX-6 and OP-1f will add to the abilities, now I must wait for their arrival. 💪😎👍

Well, it's all in the manual. But if you want to learn synthesis the Novation Bass Station II manual is good and the principles will apply to the OP-1. Also my channel!

Is the OP-1 Field worth it if you have the first OP-1?

That is subjective. If stereo and super-high sample quality are worth the extra for you (like if you slow down samples they still sound great), as well as 24 hour battery life. If you don't care much about those things, then maybe not.
